Ordering very little at BOG?

I'm sure it's ok, right? To go to BOG just to check it out and order a light something, maybe a dessert? We have an ADR for lunch but it's on a day that we have an EMM breakfast buffet and a buffet dinner booked that everyone is looking forward to. I'm hesitant to cancel our BOG lunch ADR as I think this might be the only time that a BOG reservation that I've made really fits into our plans (I'll probably have to cancel the breakfast we have booked, and the dinner, since I couldn't find one for us all and can't really make it work).

Anyway, I'd love for the kids (and me!) to see the BOG setting during the lunch ADR and maybe try some grey stuff or a really light shared lunch. Would that be frowned upon?

There is no minimum.

That said, while I personally would have no qualms about doing that at BOG breakfast or lunch, I would feel uncomfortable doing it at dinner.

I did it on our MVMCP night. We'd had a late lunch, but this was our only night at MK and we all wanted to see BoG. I got soup and the grey stuff. My SIL and niece split an entree. We even did separate checks. We did tip a little heavy to make up to the server for the time spent.

There is no minimum, so unless Disney decides to do so, I don't see why you would feel uncomfortable. Tip the server for the time rather than the cost of the food if you worry about taking the table.

I have often wondered why the high profile restaurants do not have a "cover" but since they do not I can only assume Disneyis okay with it.

I'm not sure either, because we've gone for poutine & dessert at Le Cellier, drinks & appetizers in a variety of places, etc. Maybe it is the fact that it's high profile, as you said, so there would be some kind of guilt for me. Oh well! If it was a real issue, it would have already been fixed.

I think the difference is that dinner is TS so you're taking up a table for that server....vs QS where there are no servers. I personally think it's fine to order just apps or something small, but I can see why some people would feel uncomfortable doing it at dinner but not breakfast or lunch.

We did exactly this on our October 2014 trip. We didn't need a full lunch that day but really wanted to see BOG so we just ordered cupcakes

I think the difference is that dinner is TS so you're taking up a table for that server....vs QS where there are no servers. I personally think it's fine to order just apps or something small, but I can see why some people would feel uncomfortable doing it at dinner but not breakfast or lunch.

She says she ordered light food at Le Cellier, a signature dining restaurant. I imagine that BOG is one that drives guilt.

We went for just cupcakes and sodas around 2:30. We had an earlier lunch at CHH.

It's your call. You could go for any meal and order what you choose, just like any other place (unless it's an all you can eat or buffet).

You could go for dinner and just get wine and an appetizer or dessert. Lunch, just get soup or a cupcake. Breakfast and just get coffee.

I tip well, so would have no problems doing that anywhere.

BOG is no longer a secret link email thing, You make your ADR the same way you make any other ADR. Even though BOG is CS for breakfast and lunch you need an ADR to be seated.

BOG is one of them most difficult ADR's to secure, no matter which meal. There are openings, but if you have a specific day and time you want, make this one the first one on your ADR list.
