those of you who've had orders delivered to the dlh, what area code did you use when signing up? i think i read that you could place your order 2 weeks out and we're getting close. also, anyone have a free delivery code? i know they used to give them out when i had an albertsons in my area. any other tips for having stuff delivered?

p.s...can you tell we're getting close to leaving with all my sudden posting ;)

I'd also like to know what people think of ordering from albertson's.

what area code? or zip code? I give them my phone number, and then the hotel address (DLH... don't have it here, but it is on the dl website.)

We order fresh sliced fruit (in the little snack bags), snap peas, yogurt, snacky chips/pretzels and bottled water...

Sorry don't have a coupon... wish I did, hoping Vons (that is who I use--same thing though) sends me one before we go!

The zip code I used for placing my order was 92802. I also used the DLH address: 1150 Magic Way Anaheim, CA 92802. The phone number I gave them was 714-778-6600. I got all of this information off of the DLH website and had no problem getting my order, so I think it is correct.
When I placed our order in February, we were able to place it a week in advance. We scheduled for a Sunday delivery between 6:30-8:00 pm. The groceries arrived right at 6:30. We couldn't have been happier. I did not use a free delivery coupon, so I cannot help with that.

Enjoy your trip!! :goodvibes

We ordered from Albertson's last week when we stayed at GCH. We used the hotel address and my cell phone for phone reference. They'd obviously done this a lot before. The bell desk held it till we got there. We ordered fruit (you can specify 5 bananas, 5 apples, etc.), yogurt, "cereal to go" cups, pop tarts, milk, juice and bottled water. There was a $10. delivery charge, no minimum required amount. The one thing we didn't order enough of was bottled water-- I got a 12 pack, should have gotten a 24 pack for our 5 days' stay with 5 of us. If you have an Albertson's Preferred Card, you get the savings from that, too. It was MUCH cheaper than buying breakfast stuff from Whitewater snacks in the hotel-- especially bottled water! It's robbery for bottled water in the parks! (and CA water doesn't taste very good to me!)

Worked great and we loved it. You can go on their website and order online.

Great idea, I saw that others were doing this at good neighbour hotels, but no the onsite ones. I am going to try this for our mid-April trip instead of doin' the shopping once I get there.

We ordered at DLH and it went very smooth, no issues. We will do it again on future trips.

Can someone tell me how big the in-room fridges are at GCH?

Thanks

i'm wondering the same thing. i'd love to know if you can fit a 1/2 gallon of milk in the fridge at GCH.

edited to add - i like colbybug's juice idea... would two 1/2 gallon containers fit in the GCH fridge?

me too! Only I'd like to know how big the fridges are at the DLH? :confused3
Could I get a 1/2 gallon of oj and milk in one of their fridges?

Thanks,
Kathy

You could fit two 1/2 gallon containers, on their sides, but then not much else... I don't think you could stand them both up... so get the screw top kind...

In Oct we were able to fit 1 qt of milk (upright, not screw top!!), 2 beer bottles, 4 water bottles, a 6 pack of yo baby yogurt, bag of snap peas, and 2bags of sliced apples and grapes in the fridge... not neatly mind you, but we got it all in there.

We stayed at the DLH. We fit a gallon of milk in the door. We also had cans of beer in the door- there is a can holder for soda or beer. In the main part of the fridge, we had a 3 lb bag of apples, string cheese, jelly and some bottles of water. The fridge was a typical hotel fridge. Plenty of room for us. We bought a case of water, but we only kept a couple of bottles in the fridge at a time.

WOW, that's a lot compared to what others are reporting.

They're not that tiny at GCH. Dorm sized, not just the 1-cubic square foot sized. We fit a gallon of milk and a half gallon carton of juice in the main part, plus a half gallon carton of soymilk in the door. We put some water bottles in the soda holder on the door, more water bottles stacked on their sides and 5 cups of yogurt on the top shelf. There's a tiny little freezer section at the top, enough for one ice tray. I have a water bottle with a freezable core which I refroze in there every night.

thanks for the great info avalon!
