What happens in this situation please?
You book a hotel and earn say $30 orbucks, you then book another room and use those orbucks earned on previous booking for the new booking. What then happens if you decide to cancel the first booking you made that earned you the orbucks that you have already used? Are they just deducted from your refund for the cancelled booking?

They won't let you use the Orbucks until after your stay at the hotel you earned them from. Even though they show up in your account now, you will not have the option of redeeming them until later.

We redeemed them right away, literally less than 5 min after booking hotel 1. When I had to cancel hotel 1 & rebook I asked Orbitz and they said it was easiest to cancel everything and start over so that's what we did.

I'm surprised, maybe they changed their policy? When I tried it last year they would not let me. I even got on their chat link to ask why and that is what they told me.

I'd never used Orbitz before but I'm back from my trip and had no problems at either hotel. It was great to be able to redeem the reward dollars right away before I've completed the first stay. Everything worked just fine, they'll definitely get my business again (as long as I can keep stacking Disney discounts with orbitz coupons).
