Can you tell me exactly where this resort is located in proximity to the parks? How many minutes? Is it an easy drive to WDW?

It looks like a fantastic place :D

TIA :D

it is west on US 192 - how far from WDW - depends upon the route that you take - straight US192 - then probably 20 to 25 minutes to Epcot.

black lake - then turn left at the stop sign - lets you out very close to AKL - so maybe 10 minutes to AK.

most people that stay at Orange Lake - aren't really there to see the parks - there is enough stuff to take them entertained at OL.

We stayed at orangeLakes last year and I was surprised how easy it was to get to the parks. 10-15 minutes at the most! Magic Kingdom was about 20 minutes!

We were just there last week. Do keep in mind that Disney was at max capacity as it was Easter Break. But it took us about 30 minutes just to get to the Disney exit, roughly 3-4 miles.

We will NEVER stay on 192 again.

Mjasp - that's a bummer about traffic...but would you stay at this resort again if traffic wasn't an issue?

thanks.

If you turn left on Sherberth Road you avoid a lot of 192 and will make your life a lot easier! It takes you right by Animal Kingdom and the rest of the parks are minutes away!

Here's the Sherberth Rd. turnoff. As you can see, it's by mile marker #5.

black lake stops at Sherbert Road - so take the black lake road and you can avoid the traffic -

Please kept in mind that WDW is big - even from AK - the MK is a good 15 minutes to 20 minutes away depending upon traffic and yes they are that far apart -

thank you spiceycat and Big V for all the info - I'm passing it along to my friends who are going to be staying there :D

Yes Orange Lake is a beautiful resort. The only problem is, it is a huge resort that doesn't have enough of pool considering all the units it has. Even though we stayed in the North Section (which has its own pool) We were still too far from the pool to walk to it.

Your friends will enjoy Orange Lake, The units are beautiful and Clean.

Thanks for the tips and reviews. We're staying there for our future trip (present from our in-laws) and I know nothing about it. Glad to know we'll be pleased, as well as our friends who are there to hang out vs "do Disney" like we will be!
