I own DVC and know nothing about off-site timeshares

my sister has RCI and is Considering Orange Lake for her trip next October.

So here are my questions:

How far is it to WDW & Do they have a shuttle to WDW?

Is there another RCI resort that you would reccomend that might be closer? Thanks!!!

Kate

They ahve a shuttle but it's not free. I think it was like $10 or so. I would rent a car instead.

It is down Hwy 192 West. It is about 10 minutes or so from Animal kingdom if you take the back way of Black Lake Rd to Sherbeth Rd to Osceola Parkway.

It is a VERY nice and huge resort. There are many activities, enough to keep you busy w/o even going to the parks.

For closer, I believe that Vistana, Cypress Point, Silver Lake are all RCI, but Ol is nicer (they are all nice, though). So it just depends on what's more important, location or resort quality.

She might want to join TUG (www.tug2.net is the site I believe) for owner reviews.

Hello :sunny:

We stayed at Orange Lake in February and were VERY happy with it. There were six of us ... me, dh, dd (almost 3 at the time) and dd (7mos), and my parents. (My oldest dd is a Julia too :teeth: ). I love you pic of your Julia ... where did you get that dress? It is so pretty. My Julia is a Cinderella girl ... going to be this for Halloween this year!

Anyway ... like I said we loved the place. It was huge, but we only used the pool by our building (in the East Village). This was enough for Julia. We are planning on going again this coming March and are hoping for the same location. There is a new really big water park that they are putting in and I think it should be open in the near future (2005??). Not totally sure. Older kids will love this :) It only took about 10 mins or so to WDW. We took the back route ... towards Animal Kingdom, and it was a bit quicker than going down 192, but not a huge difference we didnt' find.

The North Village also has a nice water area, but we didn't use it as Julia was small then and she was happy with the one pool by us.

Check out their website and it might let you know about the new water parks opening.

Kerri - thank you! This info is very helpful - I think she has decided to stay there and I will be sure to let her know what you said!

We got Julia's costume at the Disney store this year - she couldn't make up her mind on who she wanted to be and I am not even a big Snow white fan but once I saw Julia in the costume there was no question!!! So I bribed her with the red sparkle shoes from Target to make sure there was no waffling on her part!!!!!
