We're staying at Orange Lake for our trip in Dec and I'm wondering how long it takes to get from the condo to the parks. Obviously this varies depending on which park, which unit, etc but any info would be great!

Also, any suggestions on good places to eat between the parks and the condo?

Thanks,
Alison

It took us about 10 minutes to get to the Disney parks and about 25 to Universal, but then a little more to find parking space, etc. I think alot depends on the time of day also...rush hour to and from work, lunch times, etc. We traveled mostly off times, and our unit was fairly close to the entrance.

We never really ate in places other than our condo (there is a market, I think Publix very close to OL and a Rite Aid or Walgreens across the street) or at the parks, hopefully someone can chime in.

I really enjoyed our stay there, the place is huge, but easy to get around, fun activities for the kids in the main hall.

Its been a few years since we stayed there, but I would probably agree that 10 or 15 minutes sounds right for getting to WDW. I don't remember the time to Universal, but it does take longer as Orange Lake is closer to Disney. There is a Walgreens just down the road if I remember right...and a Publix close by also. I wasn't impressed with this resort, but I know alot of people are. It was just so BIG for us. Its clean, the pools are nice, and they have a small theatre if I remember right also.

We stayed there this past November and we really like this place. This was our second time there. The first was at least 6 years ago. They have a whole new section that has like a water park lazy river and a whole new section with places to eat and other things. We like this resort. Very clean and well kept. We had a two bedroom and it was a great size.

Orlange Lake is really close to the AK - you can actually see the top of the Tree of Life when you get off the property. There is a back way to the AK.

Have a grea time.

We own two weeks at Orange Lake and we love it. There is a shortcut that gets you to the parks in 10 minutes.

Great! Thanks for the info. We are staying off-site there the first week and then on-site the 2nd week. Wasn't sure if going back for afternoon rests is feasible while staying off-site or not? I am thinking that we may just plan to see most of the parades and shows the 2nd week while staying on-site and while off-site just do mornings/early afternoons at the park and then plan to do stuff at the resort or around Orlando in the evenings.

We are in the new section - River Islands- so looking forward to the pool! It sounds like there are a lot of activities on-site as well. Has anyone ever tried the Luau?
