We are thinking of staying there. Have you stayed there. What was it like. Were the rooms nice? What about clean? We have a 2 and 9 year old, will this be a good place to take them? Family oriented??

Orange Lake is an excellent place to stay. In fact, I ended up buying a resale last year for the end of April. It is filled with lots of family activities and young ones really like it. There is a playground, many pool areas, beach with boat rental, mini golf and a movie theater. The villa's are clean and comfortable. Of course if you like golf there's plenty of that also. You will not be upset staying here.

Thanks Poohbear2. I was just wondering if it was a nice place to take kids. We are thinking of renting from an owner and wanted to make sure it was clean, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated, like how far it is to Disney. Is it easy to get to. What part of the resort is the best. Anything we should know about a part we would not want to stay in at the resort. Thanks.

Orange Lake is very nice. We stayed there is Oct. and just won our bid on Skyauciton to stay there again Jan. 12-19. Can't wait. We have a DS4 and DD1, so no prob. with kids. The units were very clean. We stayed in one of the older units, and although you COULD tell it was dated, it was very clean and very well maintained. HTH.

If you have a choice, try for the North Village area. There is a zero entry pool with a water slide. My son loved this area. But really, you can go to any pool area no matter where your condo is located. A quick and easy drive from anywhere in the place.
My son is 8 and really enjoys it there. If there is no traffic, it takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the gate area of WDW..Maybe less time.. There is a shortcut to the AK ..I am sure if you ask at the main building they will be able to tell y ou about it. We are going this April. I haven't been there since 2000 but there renovate the condos every 5 years. I understand the studios are not so high rated. Check out www.orangelake.com. Loads of info there. Also, I would contact them to send you one of their bulletin papers. This explains EVERYTHING about the place and also includes a map of the resort.

We will be staying there January 25-February 1, we won a bid on Sky Auction as well. My parents stayed there last January and LOVED it, they couldn't say enough good things about the place which is how I made my decision to give it a try. For those of you who have stayed there before do you know if any of the pools are heated? Also I tried to have the "Orange Lake" today paper sent to me but they informed me they no longer send them out :(

Are the pools heated? What time do the pools close at night? Thanks for all the great info everyone!!!! It sounds like a wonderful place. I am really looking forward to going. Our little one will be spending her 3rd birthday there. She had to spend her 2nd one in the hospital, so I am sooo excited about this trip. I appreciate all the advise you have given to me.

cati,
I just wanted to let you know that I e-mailed orange lake and asked about heated pools and they said that the pools in North and East Village are heated but the Olympic size pool is not. Hope that helps!:D

Thanks Kev's Mom. I appreciate you doing that for me. Sounds like this place is going to be alot of fun for my family. Now if the time would just pass quickly.
