The reason we chose OLCC was because the last time we upgraded at the HGVC we were give a free RCI week in a 2 bedroom villa. We had two years to use the voucher by and didn't think we could use it as our vacation time had been booked already, but at the last minute we decided to squeeze it in. We had 1 day to find somewhere !!

The Hilton was fully booked (RCI members) so we just opened the RCI book and thought the OLCC looked ok.

We have traded our HGVC points all over the world and not had a problem until OLCC, but that was a different kind of booking. Thanks for you suggestions anyway.

Sorry you did not enjoy the trip to Orange Lake - you are right about the buffet - we never enjoy that either!
The place is very big - you do need to drive to get around - so if that bothers anyone - Orange Lake is certainly not for you.

I am upset and concerned to read about the mess your unit was in - our villa is in North Village and we have three weeks coming up in how ever many days the trip clock says!!

We have been going to Orange Lake for over 15 years and have never once had a problem with the cleanliness or anything else - so I hope we will not be in for a shock!
None of the North village is over 3 years old I believe - so I am shocked it should be in need of updating so quickly!

Do you remember which unit you were in?
Anyhow, I will try and remember to do a review too when we get back,

Ps the colour of the plates and stuff doesn't really bother us - I guess we just think it is bright for holiday fun! Though you wouldn't choose them for home probably!!

While I was sorry to hear someone had a disappointing trip anywhere, I am glad that I don't feel singled out anymore! We stayed at OLCC Jan. 2003. Our unit was not clean and things were just woren out - - far to woren to be considered a gold crown resort. The staff was ok but not concerned about our problems.

I hope they have taken care of the problems in the older units so everyone can have a wonderful Florida trip in the future.

We stayed there in Feb of 2003 and loved it.

We were in an older unit and things were a little on the used side but very nice and better than the other places we have stayed. Our unit was very clean and I loved the service.

We are going again for 2 weeks in December and even if we get an older unit...We will love it anyways. We did the tour and no sharks to be found. We just say we are here for the tickets...No problems.
