Options to book from USA

Help! We are DLR (California) veterans -- we usually go every Thanksgiving, and we've been numerous other times as well. Also experienced with WDW (Florida) and multiple Disney cruises. Now we are looking at DLP the last week of November this year (Our Thanksgiving) but I'm having a terrible time with booking options.

We will be doing other things with our time as well, so what we are wanting to do is -- 3 days in the parks with 2 nights at the Disneyland Hotel. Preference is Monday and Tuesday nights (so Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in the parks), November 25 & 26. If I try to book this via the US DLP website (us.disneylandparis.com), it won't even give me the option of those dates, everything is crossed out after November 7 and has been for weeks. Not that it is an option for us, but just to see, if I select Monday & Tuesday November 4 & 5, it gives us a price for hotel and park tickets of around $2,500 USD. Ouch! However, if I go to disneylandparisdirect.com, I can find a package that includes Disneyland Hotel for Nov 25 & 26, plus park tickets, for under £900 (around $1400 USD). I can also find basically the same package from the Official DLP UK site. But, of course, both of those options indicate that I can't book that from the US.

Any tips or tricks for visiting from the US. Or other websites to look into?

The best advice I've seen for U.S. visitors is to use the Expedia UK site. Anyone can book from this site. I'll be trying this for my upcoming first trip next year. I found the info on Mousesavers.com so look there to learn more about it.

just book from UK website and where you putting the address just leave a country as it is, confirmation is coming via email so no worries here... or if you want to book over a phone just say you want to book it under UK offer... if you search this board you will see lots of people form US did it...

I have seen that mentioned, and it is certainly what I'd like to do at this point (Expedia UK site indicates no rooms available, while official Disneyland site shows the offer I've mentioned, for same dates, with rooms available ). My worry (and I know you mention lots of people doing it) is simply this -- when booking at the US resorts, plenty of confirmation stuff is sent out via email, but we still always receive and actual hard package via postal mail that includes park tickets, meal vouchers when we get them, a hotel voucher that must be presented at check-in, and various other things. We could not complete our trip to DLR (California) when booked through the DLR website without the contents of that mailed package. I am guessing that is not the case with DLP? But that is what scares me -- are they going to mail something to me that I don't receive, and do I need that???

No, nothing is sent by post at all. You get an email with a confirmation link, click on the link and you print out your documents. That is all you need. When you check in at your hotel they give you your park tickets, meal voichers and anything else you may have booked. So no, nothing at all come thru the mail.

Thanks all for giving me the peace of mind to do it this way -- we just booked, online via the UK site. I got an IMMEDIATE confirmation of the reservation via email, but no link to print out documents. Any one have an idea how long after booking online it takes to receive the email with link to documents?

Thanks again -- now on with the planning!!!!

I've never had to print out any documents. You just need to print out the confirmation letter and take this with you. All other documents will be provided to you on check-in.

If I remember correctly ours came exactly a month prior to check in. Nothing on the original e-mail, it came on this later one.

Happy planning!

P.S. Our dream is to visit DLR California. One day!

I'm an American who visited DLP and on the advice of people on these boards, I booked through the DLP UK site. It worked fine and saved me like $500. There are no hard copies of anything mailed to you. The confirmation # that is emailed to you is all you get. When booking use your US address and just leave the country as UK. I know it seems weird but it works fine. The first time I traveled to DLP (2004) I wimped out and just booked on the DLP US site and I'm sure grossly overpaid.

if you have a reservation email with a reservation number on it, thats your confirmation. It should list who you have booked onto the package, how many nights you have booked, which hotel you have booked. Thats all you need - you get everything else (park tickets, park maps, hotel information etc etc) at your hotel when you check in.

...You get an email with a confirmation link, click on the link and you print out your documents...

Yes, see - that is what I was LOOKING for, an email that has a LINK to something to be printed out.

...You just need to print out the confirmation letter and take this with you...

So is the confirmation "letter" just the original email that I received, or is it some sort of actual letter that I will print out (perhaps with the link that cazspence mentions)?

And I do think I'm good here -- the original email that I got, within minutes of paying for my package, does include a confirmation number, the 4 names in my party, name of the hotel, etc.

So...again, I think I'm all set. Thanks all for the information!

Ok -- thought I'd go ahead and post this while it is fresh on my mind, in case anyone else might be searching for answers later.

I did, in fact, get the 2nd email I was sort of expecting, this one included a link to an 8 page document to be printed and presented upon arrival at DLP. This is not to say that we would be turned away without this; I suspect that if we showed up with just a print of that first email with our names and a confirmation number, we would be just fine, but, none the less, this second email is what I was expecting.

And I received it about 36 hours after booking, which, in this case, is 56 days prior to our arrival.

Thanks again, all!
