Looking to price out transportation from Swan/Dolphin to Royal Pacific (we'll be a group of 12-15).

I know Universal offers tickets and transfers all-in-one, but as far as I know (correct me if I'm wrong) they won't let you bring luggage on the shuttle.

We're going to stay one night at a Universal hotel to get Express access to attractions.

Any help?

Mears offers a shuttle for $19 per person round trip from anywhere in WDW to Universal Studios. For 12-15 of you, that's $228-$285 R/T plus tip. A taxi van can carry up to 7 people for about $85-90 R/T plus tip, so two or three cabs would be (usually) cheaper, and a lot more convenient. If there's a lot of traffic, the flat rate service is cheaper because there's no meter. I'd still take the cabs because of the convenience.

Since you'll need two or three taxi vans, it might behoove you to allow 15 minutes to get all the vans. It shouldn't take very long; there are tons of vans at WDW because there are so many large groups. You could head to the entrance of the Swan or Dolphin and ask a bell services person to call you the right number of vans.

If you don't need to get back to WDW when you're done at Universal, then the cost is half what I mentioned before - about $42-45 plus tip per van with normal traffic.

I have done this exact thing with a friend. But we just lightly packed and used our backpacks. But with a group of your size, the idea of several van cabs is a much better idea. That way you can bring a bag with you. You should be able to use either cabs or two private vans. For the money you would spend on the Mears shuttle ($19 pp r/t) you should be able to get r/t for all of you using some type of van.
