DH, myself, and 2DS are planning next year's trip. DS13 is in a power chair and a handicapped room is essential. I can only find information on handicapped rooms with a king bed. Clearly, we need two beds and because of the budget cannot afford to book 2 rooms. What is available at the value resorts for us? :confused3

This is not publicized, but when you make the reservation be sure that they go through Special (Medical) Reservations. If need be, once you have your confirmation call them directly at 407-939-7807. This is the only office that can actually reserve an accessible room.

When you explain the family size, including age/sex of the children, if the accessible room only has a king bed they will arrange for you to get a connecting room with two double beds at no extra charge. The fact that the reservation is for two rooms will not show up on the reservation form, but they cannot allow more than two people per bed on a reservation.

(Note a connecting room is where you can go from one directly into the other without going into any public space.)

We stayed at ASMo last October and had a HA king bed room connecting to a standard room with 2 doubles. It was on the ground floor of the Mighty Ducks building. There was plenty room for DS's wheelchair.

The reason why the only HA rooms at the values have king beds is because the rooms are so small, that when you put the 2 beds in, there isn't enough room for wheelchair clearance. They will work with you on this.

Actually, over at Pop Century, there are handicapped accessible rooms with two doubles, but I'm pretty sure they have tubs with grab bars.

Please be sure to stress that you need a HA room with a roll-in shower.
