Options- additional points needed for reservation

We're considering getting a 2 bdrm with friends in March. We only have enough points for roughly the first four nights, and then need to set something up for the next five. I had two thoughts...

1. I already transferred points from someone with a 2016 use year to one of my membership numbers. Are you allowed one transfer per membership number (because we do have another one)? If that's allowed (1/number), I could arrange for another transfer. Somehow I'm thinking that won't be allowed though. (?????)

2. We could rent the next 5 nights. It sounds like we could try to link the reservations, but there's no guarantee that they would be linked and we might have to change rooms.

Has anyone run into this situation before? What would you do?
Thanks!
Sharon

So just to be certain we're speaking of the same thing - you have 2 master contracts? ie, probably 2 UY's? You don't mean multiple contracts under one master, correct? If it's 2 masters then yes, you could get a transfer into your second one. If it's actually an add on to the same master then no.

And yes, you could link. While technically you could end up changing it's in the best interest for both Disney and you as the guest to stay in the same room. We've never had to change when we had linked reservations. What I always do is confirm at check-in that they have us staying in the same room and have the reservations linked as I have found once or twice that they weren't catching that part. Once fixed it was no issue.

Thanks! Yes, we have 2 UYs, so 2 member ids. I'm not sure if I can find another transfer that will work, but that's helpful to know. I like being the one responsible for the details.

Your experience with linking is encouraging. I'd really prefer to stay in the one location for the whole trip.

Thanks again! :)

Linking is not a problem. We just completed an 8 night stay at OKW, the first 7 nights on our points and the last night was on rented points from another member. When we checked in I made certain they were aware of the situation and that the reservation was indeed linked. The morning of the last day we had to go back to the front desk and re-check in. Make sure that you take all of the MBs when you re-check in for the last portion of your stay. We did not take them all because we had 9 and not all worked for that last day.
