Opinions - Tracfone Samsung T404G or Motorola EX124G

I've decided I'll get rid of T-Mobile and go with Tracfone. I'll get one of these phones and both come with triple minutes for life. I'm just not sure which model would be the best. The Samsung is $60 and the Motorola is $80. I want it before we leave for vacation on the 21st of October so I have to get busy and get it ordered. Anyone have any experience with these? My DH wants me to get the Motorola but I was leaning towards the Samsung to save $20. Any experience with either out there? TIA.

I don't know how much the Samsung compares to my daughter's older T301, but her Samsung is garbage for talking. The person you are calling can't understand anything the caller says. It has huge delay and makes it very difficult to talk on.

The Motorola is Tracfone's 2nd touch screen to become available. They had trouble with the LG 800G with texting and took it off the market. Then as the Motorola became available, they seem to have fixed the firmware and the texting on the LG and both are available.

I am waiting to see them side by side available in a store. I'm not much of an internet purchaser, but I do want to replace my LG flip phone because my wife and I just use them for text. I think it would be easier with a touch screen full keyboard than the numeric keypad.

My son had a similar phone to the samsung slider and he can be pretty rough on things and it held up well.

You might want to find a store that carries tracfones and check them out in person. I found mine at Radio Shack.

I haven't found either one in a store yet. They have the older models with double minutes but I'm still looking.

I don't know what the Motorola is like. I just got the Samsung- DD12 is so jealous of my slideout keyboard. No one has complained about sound quality when I'm talking on it. I am not a heavy user (hence why I am using Tracfone), but I really don't have any complaints about the T404G. Triple minutes is awesome- I got the 1500 minutes card, so I have 4500 minutes. Now that DD12 has a phone and DH turned on his texting, I use texting more, so it's a nice phone for that.

I posted here about making up my mind to get it, then about my experience switching phones on the Tracfone website. I will look that thread up and post the link.

Another item to note- later I tried to follow the instructions for setting up voicemail and couldn't get an option to do so. I contacted Tracfone Tech Support through the website (I refuse to call if I don't have to) and they emailed back to say they had updated something and now I could try again. Then the voicemail set up worked.

I have to say switching/setting up with Tracfone can be a pain, but once that's over, it's been smooth sailing for me and a great price. I've used Tracfone for many years.
