Opinions - should I book another night?

My sister, niece and I will be at DLR in January, staying at the HoJo. Sister and niece leave pretty early on the last morning to fly to Hawaii, while I am leaving on a 10pm-ish flight from LAX home so will spend the day by myself in the parks before catching the Supershuttle from HoJo to LAX at about 6pm.

I was considering adding another night to our hotel booking so I could leave my stuff in the room, go back to the room for a rest and a shower before leaving for the airport. But I'm not sure if it's worth spending $150-plus just for that...is there anywhere else I could have a shower before the flight, e.g. at the airport? I know the hotel will hang onto my bags for the day.

Will they let you pay for a late checkout? We stayed at a hotel by LAX, and paid an extra $80 to have the room until 7pm, which was cheaper than paying for an extra night.

Yes I would also ask about paying for late check out or I would book the room for the extra night. We did this in December, paid for the night at Grand Californian and it was nice being able to shower and change just before flying home.

I wouldn't pay for another day if it were me. As you have mentioned you can get them to hold your bags for as long as you like. They may also have a separate shower/changeroom area for when people are using the pool. Maybe you could find out if they do and then the shower and freshen up will be taken care of.

If you do not want to pay the extra night I do know that HoJo does have a storage area where they will keep your bag in a locked room and you can get it later in the day. On one trip we paid for the extra night and to us it was a waste for having the room for 5 hours after checkout most hotels will hold your bags for you and we had a shower just before check out left our bags at the front office and went to Disneyland for a few hours picked up our bags in the afternoon got the bus to LAX no problems my opinion.

I think Aussiegirls and I said the same thing, almost verbatim LOL. Leave your bags at Hojo and enquire when we get there about the shower. Or come to Hawaii with us and you won't have to worry!

Heidi I would love to come to Hawaii with you but I think I'd be divorced when I got home!!

I don't think I will spend the money on the extra night now...will ask about a late checkout or else will just have to suffer. After the 14 hr flight I'll be suffering enough anyway! May as well save the money to spend on some extra souvineers.

Just close your eyes and imagine the 14 hours of peace and quiet you will get, away from EVERYONE! Plus you'll be coming home to only one child instead of 3
