Hello, we are planning our first ever non-WDW trip and I am very excited about staying @ PBH! Being lazy, I just booked through Universal for March 17-21. Room, park tickets & shuttle to/from airport came out to $ 2065.10.

Okay, THEN I discovered this forum! Should I poke around and try to find a better rate? I know that our trip will be the week before Easter, so it is peak season. I am a AAA member & just signed up for a Loews card.

Also, do I tell them when I check in that I am a Loew's card holder? Is that how they know to apply the stay & give me my free welcome basket? Or do I call the PBH directly now?

Everyone on this board is so great & in the know! Just checking in frequently gets me so psyched for our trip!

What is your nightly rate? Did you book through Universal Vacations or through Loews? What kind of room are you getting? Prices on the website start at $350/night for a standard room.

$350 x4 + $87 x 4 = $1748

Transportation should be around $100 return from airport, so before taxes, in a standard room you should be about $1850

You can call them now and give them your Loews number. Make sure when you are at the parks, you always show your AAA card for discounts on meals and merchandise.

For mid March and Easter, that's actually not bad at all for a 5 star deluxe hotel trip with unlimited express passes!!!

Booked through Universal Vacations. We have the least expensive room. I figured that minus the tickets & transportation, the room comes to $398 per night, including taxes. Usually we stay at the Yacht Club @ WDW & this is a much better price than there.

Thanks for the input!

It isn't really good to be booked through Universal Vacations. First of all, they are third party booking and you don't get any of your Loews benefits and you don't get credit for your stay.

If you booked through Loews directly and ordered your park tickets through the Universal Orlando website, not only would you be saving money, but you would get your Loews benefits (free health club access, etc.) and you get creditted for your stay and on your way to moving up to gold level which gives you room upgrades next time.

Is there a cancellation fee?

I called Universal and got a AAA rate of about 285 a night (inc. tax) for a three night stay in July. That was a 15% discount off the rack rate. Definitely ask for a AAA rate.

Check the supersaver rate. It might be lower.

I keep hearing people refer to the supersaver rate, but I can't find reference to it anywhere else. What is it? Do I need to call to get it? Is it an AP rate or a Loew's rate, etc.?

what are your dates? pick your hotel here , then pick your dates. then next page will have several different price choices and one is called Super Savings (you have to stay 3 or more nights). The more nights you stay, the bigger the discount.

if you have any questions.....post them and we can try to help you

Just to add to what Tracie (tlinus) said, you won't need a code for a supersaver rate. If it is available for your trip, it will come up on the rates page. Use the link that Tracie provided and type in APH in the promotion code box to see what the rate would be for an annual pass holder and also try AAA to see what it is for AAA members. Don't forget to sign up for a Loews First membership.

I know that you get the perks by making reservations thru Loew's directly? But are the room prices a lot less if you book thru a third party?
