We are trying to decide between Boma and O'hana for dinner. I know they are totally different but we have never been to either and would be happy to explore either Poly or AKL. Please let me know your opinions. It would be my husband, myself and our DD (8).

Thanks!:thumbsup2

I personally like BOMA for breakfast, we had dinner at BOMA and it was ok, glad we tried it but we will not go back for dinner. I'm trying to go to O'hana on our next trip and I think my son and husband will like the place better.

I would say the food is a little better quality at Boma but 'Ohana is still good, too.

Honestly I would pick Boma if you are closer to AK that night and 'Ohana if you are closer to MK that night.

I have never been to either, but everyone I have talked to told me that Ohana is a must. So that is the one we are going to try in Oct.

Boma is a close race. These are 2 of my favorite places

May I recommend the 'ohana character breakfast. Its the best on property that I have been too

We didn't care for O'hana for dinner. All of the meats were over cooked the night we went. Never eaten at BOMA. I would pick Kona over O'hana.

Boma has more variety - more fruits, more dessert choices, picks for kids - soups - wow on their soups!! However, a nice Dis'er posted recently that they have made some changes - if you've never been, you have nothing to compare it to - however, no prime rib? driy sirloin? not something I'd reccommend - and they had a bobbita (I can never remember the name for this side dish!!) because of the changes - I know I'm a picky eater - so I just dont know...

Ohana - we've been 3 times - and there have been changes!! again, if its your first time - you have nothing to compare it to - but - dd just told the waiter what she wished for (chicken nuggets, fries and a bowl of ketchup) and viola - she got her wish!! and I think its a basic all you can eat meats, shrimp, love their wings - salad -

I would lean towards Ohana for a first timer - its close to MK - so transportation is much easier - and if you go from MK to Polynesian, do consider taking the resort ferry boat - its lovely - and after dinner - stroll out to the beach with a drink to go - and watch wishes from the beach!! AWESOME!!

I love O'Hana. (there are a couple meats that weren't the best, but you get like 3 different ones plus shrimp plus all kinds of appetizers/sides/salads--some really wonderful stuff so who cares if the pork tastes a little odd or the turkey is a little dry if the shrimp and steak are good, the salad has the best dressing you've ever had and the dessert is wonderful!)
Boma is a buffet. Some people like that, in my book that's a con because I don't like getting up and getting my food plus getting food for all the kids. I've eaten there 3 times. The first time I thought it was pretty bad. The second time I steered away from the meats and went for soups and salads and it was good. The third time was early breakfast and was good with a lot of variety and not crowded at all.

That's like picking which hand to cut off right or left! If HAD to choose I would go with O'hana. I love thier dipping sauces and its nice not having to stand in line and get your own food every once in a while. Pickier eatiers will be fine at either (Boma has great selection), but O'hana will have at least a little more 'familiar' eats. We have ADR's at both our next trip but rest of family only would take one so I picked O'hana for them to try.

Now as far as exploring the resorts if that was a big draw I'd go with AKL, I think its beautiful and the savannah's are amazing.

Thanks for all of the input!!! I ended up picking Boma for the simple fact that I couldn't get into Ohana for our whole trip. I did book an ADR at Kona since I really wanted to see the Poly. Looking forward to lots of new restaurants this trip.

We prefer the food at Ohana for dinner but Boma has a better breakfast

We would say that Boma would be a better overall dining experience. We like Ohana very much, however.
