We have just booked a last minute deal for two rooms at the Fairfield Inn next week. This will be the first time we've stayed off Disney so we're a little apprehensive as we have no idea what this hotel is like. Any opinions or advice would be gratefully received.

I don't know this hotel specifically but you should rest assured that Fairfield Inn is the Marriott corporation's answer to economy lodging. Marriott knows how to operate hotels very well....rooms are always spotless, and the hotel staff always seems a notch or two above the usual standards.

Good choice for economy lodging!

While we did not stay at the Fairfield Inn, we did stay at the Courtyard at Marriott Village. Great location--could see all the Downtown Disney hotels across the street. The complex is made up of 3 hotels with a big fountain in the middle....the Fairfield has a small "strip" of restaurants in it. When we were there, there was a specialty coffee place, a Pizza Hut Express, a Deli and an A&W fried place.

If you have kids, some of the pools have a zero entry...we stayed at the Courtyard pool because it was half outside and half inside with a kids fountain area.

A very nice complex for the money..

We have stayed at all 3 of the hotels in the complex. Very nice. There is a little courtyard area also with shops. Nice play to stay.
