With all of my visits to WDW, I've never been to the Wide World of Sports. I'm looking for feedback from those of you who have been there. How long did you spend? Was it worth it? What do they have to do? Would you go again? What are the food options like?

We will be going over Easter and do have enough days in our visit to try it out, if it will be worth it.

Thanks

I really wouldn't waste the time going to the Wide World of Sports unless there is a particular event going on that you would want to see. We went in June of 2001 and thought it was a waste of time. It is a beautiful complex if you are an athlete participating there, but there isn't much else to do if you are just visiting. We did the NFL experience, which was a self guided tour through some drills. My fiance, who is a huge football fan, was very disappointed. Also, getting here can be tricky. If you are relying on Disney transportation, the only place you can get a bus to WWoS is at MGM. It took us well over an hour each way to get there. Sorry to sound so negative, but as I said before, unless you are going there for a particular event, you will probably find it to be a waste of time.

Don't apologize for being negative. This is exactly what I was looking for opinions and the info you gave me on the bus info was great.

Any other opinions.

Thanks

I have to agree that there is not much to do at Wide World of Sports, but...we found something very fun to do there!! We just spent a week at WDW (09/24 through 10/01). When we checked in, we received the tickets to mini golf or Wide World of Sports so we decided to call the information line to see what was happening during our stay. The cast member told me that "Wayne Brady would be taping a segment at Wide World of Sports on 09/28...do you know who he is?" Needless to say, my DH and I are big fans. So, to make an even longer story short, we went to the taping and we were on the Wayne Brady show yesterday!! Of course we had to tape it, and while I'm watching it, I couldn't even recognize myself. I had to ask my DH "so, what color am I wearing"...and I was in the front row!!

I would recommend that you inquire about what's happening there during your stay...you just never know!!

DWWoS is not really a place to go hang out. It's purpose is to facilitate sporting events and special engagements. If there is something going on that you are interested in (high school basketball, pee wee football, amateur wrestling, etc) then it is pretty cool. If not, I would suggst spending your time elsewhere. Note: You do not have to pay park admission to eat at the All Star Cafe.
