Opinions on wait times

My daughter was denied DAS (long story) and told to speak to CM at right entrance. Honestly, this has worked well for her... maybe even "better"

She tries hard to look closely at her needs before asking as far as the type of line (that might trap her) and the length of the wait (the likelihood that she'll be able to wait without needing to leave). So, essentially she only approaches the CM if the the wait time exceed what she can handle.

Having said all that, we had a kind of weird experience yesterday at Epcot. Multiple rides (4) had extremely low posted wait times. (Soarin 10 minutes!). We asked for confirmation at the entrances and were told that they were correct so we just entered the lines.

In each case, the wait was about twice as long as posted. Really put her on the edge of what she was comfortable with one closer call but it ended up not being a problem. Still... I'm used to, if anything, the posted times being a bit of an over estimate.

She was pretty burned out by then so we ended up leaving. It may have just been a fluke but we are not sure how to proceed if the posted wait times are going to consistently very far off.

Is it the posted time not being accurate the main problem? If yes, then what is her limit time wise and go by that as a guide. Each ride and the time of day may have different results; so, you need to know the time limit for each ride and then decide. Let her be part of that decision, if possible.

Posted times have always been off; I find them to be very inaccurate. On the thrill rides is the worse regarding estimated times. If you can handle double the time as to what is posted then you should be okay.

There really is not a simple answer, here. We have bladder issues; so, we are use to leaving a ride line, if necessary. If a line is long then we prepare beforehand.

Also, having some distractions may help. Can you play a game in line? Talk about subjects she enjoys.

Worse to worse do more shows, parades, and meet and greets instead.
