Tamron 75-300mm or Tamron 28-200mm for my Pentax K100D.

I currently have the 18-55mm. The price on these are great ($140 and $130), but am I sacrificing quality??

I do not use either of those, but as a general rule of thumb any zoom that covers a long range will lower the quality. Is it still enough quality for your needs? Maybe so. Have you considered the Pentax 50-200mm? It seems to get very good reviews. Also, the 28 end on that one will probably leave you wanting something wider so you will end up putting the kit lens back on quite often. You then lose the convenience factor of a long range zoom. You might want to consider something starting around 18mm if you want one lens that stays on most of the time.
