We visited the new Goofy playland last weekend. My 4yo DS liked it for about 30 minutes then was ready to move on. Later he showed no interest in returning. I couldn't help thinking as I sat on the bench and watched him play that this was probably the same feeling that Walt had over 50 years ago.

We just got back from DL and I never saw a playland. Where is it? I think my DS would have really enjoyed it, since one of his top 5 favorite things to do at DL was chasing a pair of ducks around the courtyard outside the Village Haus!

It is in toontown where Goofys bounce was previously. Actually, it still uses Goofys house- its his house and yard- but its not longer a bounce house. I thought the area was cute, but it was a bit young for my kids. We looked around for about 10 minutes and moved on.

I didn't realize it wasn't a bouce house anymore :( Thought it was the same except for the outside...oh well! So was there an attendant working there? Or was it more like Mickey & Minnie's house where you just sort of meander around?

There's a small slide, some boxes and a hollowed out watermelon to crawl through and a big pumpkin & a garden hose (no water) to play on. Inside the house is a piano, 2 chairs & a dresser.

[I tried to post this as a poll, but the poll & it's options seem to have gone to Neverland] :tink:

I work in Toontown (which includes Goofy's.) We have one CM there at all times - the first couple weeks we had two, and its just a matter of time before we drop the position altogether I think. ;)

Personally, the opinions from guests have been mixed when speaking to me. A lot of people complain about the Bounce House, but a lot of other people love what they have done to it - particularly if they have kids in the 2-5 range. I have had several children cry when we close at the end of the night because they are having so much fun! Generally, if parties have younger guests (especially 2-3 year olds), they seem to be spending a lot of time there and having a good time. If they are older, it seems to be more a "have a quick look and move on" type attraction.

I'm looking forward to it. One of my bigger gripes with DL was that it lacked any good place for babies and young toddlers to run off some energy. A nice closed in area, gated, benches for the parents to relax on.......heaven. :sunny:

Thanks a bunch for the first hand info! I am sad that the bounce house is gone, my 5 year old isn't going to be happy about that, BUT since there's other stuff to do I'm sure she'll have just as much fun :)
Thanks again!

We'll be sure to check it out on our stay with DS5 and DSnearly2!

We didn't go into the play area (my girls are too big) adn they were sad that the bounce house was gone, but I think it's great that they've added a play area for young ones!
