Just wondering what you think about the Sci-Fi Dine in Theater in MGM and/or Le Cellier Steakhouse (Canada) in Epcot. Will be going in Oct. 2005 and trying to decide where to eat! Opinions greatly appreciated! :sunny:

I can't comment on Sci-Fi...b/c my DH LOVES 50's Primetime Cafe & Mamma Melrose so we usually stick to those. But Le Cellier was wonderful! We tried it for the first time last year in May & loved it so much we went back in Dec. Great pretzel bread on the table! Had a cheddar soup that was perfect on a cold Dec. evening in FL. My DH loved his steak & I loved my filet mignon. Seemed family friendly... (we don't have children)...lots of families there.

We had wonderful meals each time & the service was very good.
It is very popular so def. make a ressie. ENJOY!

My family love the Sci-Fi! We haven't there 6 or 7 times and have always ordered the cheese burgers and onion rings/fries. (I have read numerous bad reviews of other menu items, but what kind of a nut order pasta at a drive in?)

The real reason we go is this atmosphere. Sitting it the car and watching the old movie promo reels is a big kick for my family. The dark, cool environment is wonderful in the middle of the day. This is the perfect spot for a 2 o'clock lunch. Or a 3 o'clock milkshake.

We have reservations for LeCellier in September, but have never eaten there, so no comment (yet).

We love Sci Fi! It's a must-do for my family (me, DH, DS16 and DS13) every trip. We're all sci fi fans so we love the theming. It really is a lot of fun. The food is not exactly fine dining, but if you go there for lunch and stick with the burgers and fries, it's really pretty good. And the shakes are delicious!

We've never been to Le Cellier so I can't offer an opinion on that one, but it does get very good reviews here on the boards.

I have eaten lunch and dinner at Sci Fi. Burgers are not on the menu at dinner, so if your family wants that you should stick with lunch. At dinner, I had the fried catfish dinner and it was pretty tasteless, but okay. DH had the shrimp pasta and it was YUMMY, with lots of shrimp.

I think this place does it's best work at lunch with the burgers and shakes, really. The atmosphere is great, probably the best in WDW, and is a great escape on a busy day.

We had our very first meal at Sci-Fi a couple of weeks ago. After reading, for years, that it's safest to stick with their burgers, fries, and shakes, we went there for lunch and that's what we ALL ordered. lol We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was good, for what it was. Nice server too :)

I have pictures on my Restaurant Reviews thread. The link is below in my signature if you care to take a look :)

We like both. Depends if you want something a little different and fun, with "casual" type food vs a little more "formal" atmosphere and food. If I'm at MGM for lunch, I eat at Sci Fi. Le Cellier is one of our all time favorites and we eat there every trip. (Unless we're with "other" people, then we let them choose a country)

I enjoy both immensely!

Sci Fi has some of the best theming (if not THE best) of all the WDW restaurants. I always order the spinach dip, don't forget your souvenir cup!

Le Cellier is completely different and has great filet mignon! I would prefer the atmosphere to be a tad more upscale but that is a minor detail!

ENJOY!

I love the french dip sandwich I had for lunch at Le Cellier. The cheese soup is also good. My husband had a yummy steak. No negatives at all though Sci Fi would probably be more fun for kids.

We haven't eaten at either, but will be eating at both for our trip in September.

Aimeedyan, I was looking on the menu for SciFi on this site. The do have the burger listed on the dinner menu, but not the lunch menu. :earsboy:

If they don't have the burgers for dinner, I'll need to redo our PS.

We ate @ Sci-Fi for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere & food. Nothing gourmet here, Spinach Dip was good as were the steak, french dip, milkshakes & "giant" sundaes. Only negative was the somewhat hurried service, think they try to turn over the tables too quickly.

Love LeCellier, our favorite sit down restaurant @ WDW. Nice atmosphere, cheese soup is outstanding, and the steaks are of good quality & well prepared. Service staff was effecient and friendly. They have many of their dinner items @ lunch also. Can't wait to return.
