We are staying at Poly this time. We usually do the Chef Mickeys bfast, but since we are at the Poly, thought we would try Ohanas this time instead.

Do they make pictures like at CM? Is the interaction as good with the characters? Is it a buffet? Is it good?

Thanks,
Angie

It's been a few years since we've done this meal, but I'll try to help. When we were there last (it's been at least 3 years) no pictures were taken before the meal, but I thought the character interaction was better than at CMs. I love both restaurants--we're doing a CM dinner, since we will eat all of our breakfasts in the concierge lounge at the Poly.

O'hana's is cozier and more comfortable (IMO) and I don't think there are as many tables so the characters seem to spend a little more time at each table and come around more often.

The meal is served family style, all you want is brought right to you. I doubt the selection is as extensive, but it was very good. One of our meals at O'hana, I was recovering from a 24 hour bug. The CM was very considerate bringing me tea and plain toast. One of the many reasons I love the Poly!:D
Enjoy!

Well, mine's an old review, too, but at least it will be a bump! Character interaction was great, service was fine...friendly and efficient which we find typical of the Polynesian. We did not care for the food. It wasn't bad, just not choices we would usually make...heavy sausage with the scrambled eggs, some unusual bread that we did not care for.

Be sure to try Kona for breakfast. The Tonga Toast without syrup is great. We eat breakfast there at least twice each trip even if we're in Poly concierge or at another resort. Have a great time!

My family loved the food. :) Scrambled eggs (we requested a few over-easy eggs and were accomodated), Mickey waffles, fried potatos, link sausage, etc. We also requested some of the famous Tonga Toast from the Kona Cafe (which is right next door) and were given that also.

Character interaction was good, but our server was less than "happy" that morning.

We'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Great! I am glad you all mentioned the Tonga Toast. I keep hearing about that and wasn't sure if it was Ohana or Kona Cafe'.

Thanks for your help.

We were just there in October and it was our favorite breakfast. The characters were great and I thought the food was really good too. They have a cute parade with the kids and the characters too. It will be a definite for us next time around.

We were there on Dec. 9 and my girls (2,4) loved it! We thought that the food was very good and the atmosphere was great. My DD4 got a kick out of the parade and they had a wonderful time with the characters. I would do it again - if that helps!

We've eaten there several times and are planning on going three times during our 11 night June stay at the Poly this summer. It's our favorite breakfast at WDW. The character interaction is wonderful, the food is served family style in the middle of your table so you can help yourself to scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. They also serve a pineapple breakfast bread that is addicting. The characters also lead the kids around the restaurant in a parade. We'e always had great service as well. Sorry, they don't do the photo thing. Never thought of requesting Tonga Toast from next door, have to try that this time around. It's great, you'll love it. Have fun!

We had breakfast there in October (2002) and it was voted the best C-bfast from our trip. We also went to CM and Hollywood & Vine. The food was so fresh and plenty. There was no portrait taken at Ohana. However, the character interaction was very good. We took these pics at Ohana. You can tell we had a great time there! :D
