Opinions on Magic for Less Travel?

I tried to do a search several times but I always got a message that the server was too busy, so I apologize if this question had been asked before.

I'd love opinions from whoever used this service. Do they have good prices compared to other travel agents? Were they helpful? It looks like they have perks but is it worth it? I'm not even sure what a California fun book is about.

Any input is greatly appreciated! TIA!

I have been in travel for over 12 years and been to DL over 25 times. If you have any questions I am more than happy to help! :wizard:

Thanks seattlebusymom! Wow, you are so lucky to make it to DL that many times! So have you heard anything about this company? Part of their package is early entry, and preferred seating for some of the shows (like Aladin), so that's definitely attractive. But I've never seen any discussion on this travel agent before so I'm checking to see if anyone here has used it before. Thanks!

I haven't used Magic For Less Travel, but I can answer one of your questions. :)

The Disneyland Fun Book is a book of coupons that actually comes from Disney Travel. If you're planning on doing any shopping or eating in Downtown Disney (I forget which stores/restaurants were in it, but many were for DTD), it would be nice to have. Most of the discounts are 10 - 15 percent, I think.

Magic For Less Travel (mouseforless.com) has an awesome website, don't they? Lots of good information, and pages you can print out for your trip (ie. a trip journal for yourself or your child.) I'm talking with someone there now to create Disneyland-specific pages, similar to their Disney World ones. :sunny:

The perks you mention come from Disney Travel, so you could get them by booking through any Disney-authorized agency, AAA or directly through Disney. Not to dissuade you from this particular TA, it's just that it took me awhile to figure this out when I first started looking around.

AAA has a very nice perk that no one else has, and that is the 'enhanced' fastpass, which allows you to collect more than one fastpass at a time. If you are traveling at a busy time, it might be worth booking through them to get this; if going at a slower period, it might not matter. (Note that the enhanced fastpass requires booking onsite hotel and tickets through AAA.)

Deb from the Magic For Less booked my trip two years ago. She was fantastic! very quick to answer emails, called me on the phone to get credit card info so I wouldn't have to send it via the computer, etc. She also made all my ADR's (except CRT) for me and got the times I wanted.

One of the nicest things about The Magic For Less is that when discounts come out they automatically apply them to your reservation and then let you know how much $$$ you saved. This way you don't have to worry about calling them as soon as codes come out.

Also, prior to your trip, they send out emails with tips and suggestions for your trip which are fun to read and get the excitement building.

I also want to say that I've been very impressed with their customer service. I was only emailing to ask about their free trip journal pages, and both times the response has been immediate and so friendly!

My previous booking with a TA was disappointing due to the lack of knowledge about Disneyland (they were supposed to be 'experts', for pete's sake!), slow response time and little help with the later cancellation of that trip. I re-booked with AAA online having gained a lot of knowledge from this DIS board, but if I hadn't been comfortable with that, would have loved to get an agent that was as helpful as these folks have been. :sunny:

The enhanced fast pass from AAA is worth more than any other perk, for us. We will also get the fun book, whatever that is. Some luggage tags, I think. Their price is discounted on the hotel portion of the package too! :thumbsup2

Well, I am going to blatantly put in a good word for "dreams" vacations too!If you are looking for friendly experts you can't do better!

Thanks so much for the input! Since I posted this, I had some email communications and they always got back to me within a day or two. I'm glad everyone had good experience with them.

It's good to know about the enhanced FP with AAA. We're not doing a lot of the popular rides, since we have a 2 year old who can't get on a lot of 'em, but for our next trip, we will definitely keep this in mind.
