Hello all you lovely wedding boarders!

We went to look at reception venues today, and I was curious to see what you all thought. We went to the Alnwick Gardens today, aiming to look at their Treehouse for our reception venue. However, they also showed us another lovely room, so we are now spoilt for choice!

We went only concerned for The Treehouse, but now we also really like the other room on offer (The Pavillion)... Here's some pics... Let me know your opinions everyone as we can't decide!

This is The Treehouse (No pics of the inside as it was so busy!):

We still like it, but it is quite tightly packed, so we're not sure people would mix well. It is very cosy and nice!

This is the Pavillion room:

The courtyard outside for if people want to have a drink outdoors.

It is a very light and airy space.... This is the outside of it:

Another thing we love about it is the view over to the Cascade fountain...

They can arrange to light it up for you and keep it running like this (Pic nicked from brouchure!):

And this is the Pavillion lit up at night:

It depends what look and feel you want for your wedding. The treehouse reminds me of a fairy tale story. I would like to know what the inside was like. I think I would like it to have a cosy feel.

The pavilion is very modern. But still nice in its own way.

I can picture a small wedding at the treehouse but a big wedding at the pavilion with a very clean crisp look.

It is only a small wedding (50 people)...

The inside of the Treehouse has a 'living tree' that grows through it. It is stunning and beautiful, but we are concerned that as its so tightly packed inside that people might not be able to mix around....

The Pavillion room isn't as big as it looks, but it is more open and airy....

We're having a winter wedding, so I think The Treehouse with it's roaring fire would look sooo nice and cosy, but the Pavillion would have a lovely view over frosty grass making it feel very wintery....

See now that you have said that I'm leaning towards the treehouse as it is just so different.

How many people do they say it can hold?

I'm sure your heart is telling you which one you should go for, so I say follow it :)

The Treehouse can hold up to 100 (I think) and the Pavillion about the same.

We shall ponder it further!

I love the Treehouse, it reminds me of some magical place! Like something out of Harry Potter! It's your choice so go with your heart, but I think the treehouse is something unique that you cannot get anywhere else!

I think I prefer the Pavillion, especially seeing it all lit up at night. But also the Tree house sounds intriguing, but without having seen inside, I'd lean towards the pavillion.

Here's a suggestion. Flip a coin! No honestly, I've found it works best for me. Flip the coin, heads for the tree house, tails for the pavillion. If it lands on heads and you get excited, The tree house it is, but if it lands on heads, and all you do is go "oh, ok tree house..." then the Pavillion is for you!

Thanks Everyone....

We are still making the tough choice! Someone is meant to be getting in touch with us today about costs, so it may boil down to that!

Just checked my emails and I had an email from Rachel at the Gardens... She says the £4,500 minimum spend will apply to the Treehouse on the day of our wedding, so its looking like the Pavillion Room! That made the choice easy as we can't afford £4,500 minimum spend (That wasn't including the hire!!)...

She sent me these images of the Pavillion, and I think it looks beautiful. The floor looks like its covered in stars... :lovestruc
