Okay, I need some advice as I am very undecided about a purchase I have made.

I found a Jeep Wrangler side-by-side double reclining stroller at our Toys R Us store closing for $55. It Is basically a reclining double umbrella, doesn’t have storage baskets, but you can unzip the back somehow to make it cooler. My kids will be 2 and 4 on our trip in the fall. I have a Graco DuoRider that I DO NOT want to take with us (the thing is a monster, and whoever sits in front gets their back kicked constantly!).

I need opinions on whether I should KEEP the Jeep (it is still in the box and can be returned), or plan on taking individual strollers (probably my Graco Metrolite, which I love, for the 2 yr old and a cheap umbrella that can be stuck in the bottom basket when not in use for the 4 yr old.)

Before everyone starts telling me how wonderful the Maclaren and Pegs are, I already know, but am not going to spend the $$$ on either as I don’t really use a double stroller that often – only the occasional mall crawl.

I’d love to hear from those that HAVE this Jeep stroller and how they feel about it and why. Details about the recline feature would also be appreciated!

TIA! Amy

I have the Jeep Wrangler double umbrella. I use it often for my 4 and 2 y/o's. The only downsides I have found is the lack of storage and my 4 y/o is too tall so when the canopy is over him you can see the lump of his head on the top. He also has a habit of resting his feet on the wheel. It does fold up nice and small and is lightweight.

Can you tell me anything about how the recline works? Does it have one (or several) settings that I must choose between, or is it continuous (my Metrolite has strings, so it can be set anywhere). How far back does it recline?

I might be able to help, just went to toysrus yesterday to test this stroller out so I was happy to see this thread!! I am driving myself nuts stroller shopping.

It reclines with these plastic clips that lock onto the side metal bars, so there are really only 2 or 3 reclined settings, neither are a full recline, but both seemed comfortable enough for ds(2) when he was in the store.

The back panel of the seat rolls up into a little 'pillow' and reveals a mesh lining. I thought this looked pretty cool for hot days at disney.

There are a ton of good reviews on amazon.com. The main complaints seem to be the small sunshades and the lack of a basket. It did say that if you somehow unhook one side of the sunshade before folding the stroller, it is suppose to help it hold its shape??

To the pp who has a 4 and 2 year old, is it still ok to push with the 2 year old? One of my main concerns is the top weight suppose to be only 35 lbs per seat. DS is 28 lbs now, but I would like to use this for awhile. We just love that it is so small, since we dont use a stroller THAT often.

As the pp stated, it reclines with plastic hooks. It only has one recline left – not completely flat but close. I have had no problem pushing it with both children or one at a time. My children together are WAY over the 35 lb. limit and it still pushes and steers well – my 4 y/o ds is 40 lbs. and my 2 y/o dd is 20 lbs. so that’s 60 lbs. and no problems at all.

I bought this stroller inDecember for my WDW trip. I was traveling with my 4 and 2yo. My 4yo is close to 50lbs and my 2yo is about 32lb. It was easy to push. I didn't like the lack of storage, but I was able to hang a backpack on the back. I just needed to remember to take it off when I parked the stroller or it would fall backwards. I didn't have a need for the seat venting, but it does seem cool. The stroller was definitely manageable carrying a sleeping 2yo and getting on a bus ;)

Staci (Above) answered how I would have in response to your questions.

Thank you so much for your comments on using it with older children! That was the main reason I didnt go ahead and purchase it yesterday.

We will likely use it only once a week or so, but would like to be able to use it for trips to the zoo, etc. where the older child may be tired, and I wanted to make sure that it could handle that.

Thanks again! Looks like I am heading back to ToysRus now!! If only ours was only $55. :-( Oh well!

Thanks everyone - I think I'll stick with it - my two REALLY need a side-by-side stroller as they are bugging each other in the tandem. :duck:

I'm 5'7" and have to hunch over to push strollers as does my DH. I am looking at the Jeep stroller too. Does anyone have one that is tall? Does it feel good to push?
