Opinions needed: Should EMH parks be avoided?

Hi,
Do the EMH parks get so crowded that it is better to avoid them and visit a park w/o EMH (especially the early entry days)?

I think the early entry days are great, providing you are using that extra hour yourself. We usually leave around 2pm, and manage to do all that we want. I've never tried the evening EMH so I couldn't comment on that.

We love the one extra hour in the morning. If you get there when it opens, it is definately worth while. We have had different experiences with evening EMH, the waits were longer at night than they were in the morning. My advice: do the extra hour in the morning, avoid the evening EMH

When we were there in April we loved the morning EMH at the MK and Epcot. We made sure to be there a bit before opening ( 7 am for the MK ) and got to do a lot before the parks got crowded. At the MK we have some pictures where it looks like we are the only ones in the park. The two days we did the EMH there were both wonderful. Epcot was also great, got to do test track, and soarin twice with no waits.
We did try the EMH at the AK which was a complete mess. They made no attempt to check who was going in, so everyone was entering. Plus they only had a few turnstyles open so it was SLOW getting in. Unless they have fixed this, and actually check for resort ids, I would stay away from there.

We've never gotten up early enough to do AM hours, but have done the evening ones multiple times at each park except AK. MGM seems consistently low-crowds the 3 times we've done it. MK seems consistently crowded, but then again, it is consistently more crowded on any day. Epcot was mixed. The park itself never seems too crowded, but the big 2 of Soarin and Test Track can still have long waits. We did, however, go to evening EMH at Epcot last Friday, and rode Soarin with no wait, and then went over to Test Track and got to ride 2 times without leaving the car as there was no one in line.

I used to be a firm believer in avoiding EMH, but when we were there in May, both the morning and evening EMH worked out perfectly for us.

Did Evening EMH at Epcot and MGM this year for the first time. It wasn't bad except we stuck around to watch Illuminations. We should have continued to ride instead and picked another weekday to watch the fireworks.

Same with MGM. It was so quiet during the show that we should have rode the Tower and coaster more than watch a show. We saw Mermaid and there were 40-50 people. Went to Tower and walked right on. As we left Tower, Fantasmic was over and the crowds appeared.

i reccommend doing MGM but ride during Fantasmic. After the show is over, thats the time to see shows.

Its surprising to see how many people show up late with small kids. We were leaving MGM at 10pm and people were showing up.
