We were hoping to visit Disney, in September, just after Labor Day when crowds are lighter. With Food and Wine dates starting at the end of August next year, will this significantly raise crowds levels at Disneyworld? Or just crowds at Epcot? Please leave your thoughts and opinions.

Wow! I was not aware it was starting so early. I wanted DVC Poly Studio beginning September 9 and wasnt too worried. Now I am.

Thanks for the information though. I appreciate it. I cant make my ressies until seven months out since I own at SSR.

I'm a little worried too.

I'm in the same boat and have been pondering this as well. My thinking is that due to most schools starting around then, it will probably still be lighter crowds than later in September and in October. I was hoping to avoid the festival next year completely, but with the festivals being extended and new ones being added, it seems the booths are going to become permanent fixtures. I'm just going to stick with my original plan and hope that school and the heat keeps festival crowds low at the beginning of the month.

My guess is the weekdays will continue to be less crowded than the weekends. I'm sure the weekends will be packed. While schools will be back in session (we are in CT and DS9 will go back the day after Labor Day), families with younger children may take advantage of that earlier time frame to take a trip, so, yes, I think crowds will be a bit higher in earlier September than we've seen before.

I think they crowds will still be very low after LD. Right after LD the crowds will be lowest of the year IMO, even with the F&W. May see an uptick on the weekends, but still nothing crazy.

I'm hoping now with more Food and Wine dates, it may dilute or disperse the number of people that plan trips just for seeing the F&W festival. We were planning a late September trip so now that F&W is starting earlier in September, it could bring a more even number of people in September, but expect it to be moderately busy no matter what.

The other thing that could change crowd patterns are hurricanes. Hurricane threats do cause a lot of people to cancel trips and rebook for later periods a la this year. You just never know...
