We are thinking of driving, but my parents and grandfather want to fly. Does anyone know how difficult it is to pick up passengers at MCO? At home DH and I have this down to a science, as he travels a lot for work. I just drive the circle and he hops in the car. Can this be done at MCO? I am thinking we will pick them up and head for the port the night before. Any thoughts? Thanks!:D

It can be. We drove from GA in October, and I picked my parents up from MCO who flew in from Colorado Springs.

Going to add another question that might help out - Does anyone know if MCO has 1st half hour free parking?
I know we do here in Cincy, and Dayton does also, and I thought quite a few of the airports were offering that now, since they don't let you sit curbside and wait any longer.

They don't have parking rates at the Orlando Airport web site, but they do have a phone number to call for more information...

Thanks Dave. I called and only got a machine but it did tell me that garage parking is only $1.00 per 1/2 hour, so that is fine. Even if we would end up going in it would not be more than a couple $'s. Now to work out the timing of it all!:teeth:

We had just prearranged to meet outside the luggage pickup terminal. When I git there, I just went to whatever side of the reminal that their airline came in on (per signs) and just circled around until I saw them. I had to circle about 5 times but it was not hard to do.

Forgot to add, we do this all the time at Atlana Hartsfield, which seems like it is a much bigger airport than MCO.

dzneprincess, That is about how we do it at STL. He calls from the gate as the plane gets in, and I circle. We like to circle the drop off area since it is not as busy as the pick up. That is basicly what I hope to do at MCO also.

Does anyone know if the cruise line will pick up all their checked luggage? It would be great not to have to get everything in the car!:D

Thanks Dave, and thanks DCM for calling the MCO # and getting the rates (and for letting me piggy back this ?)
And I think DCL will only pick-up luggage if you are using their transportation. I'm not 100% on that, so let's see if someone else knows better.

If both parties have cell phones it is very easy to pick someone up at "arriving flights" at any airport. Just wait until they have there luggage and have them call you and tell you where they are waiting to be picked up.
