I know that everyone's 'taste thoughts/likes/dislikes' are different. But, I still would like some input. We're FINALLY getting to eat at Le Cellier and I KNOW I want the cheese soup (OF COURSE!!!) and I KNOW I want a steak.

We'll be eating there for lunch, due to the fact that it takes 2 ts credits for dinner. I cannot decide between the Filet Mignon and the New York Strip.

I've heard from some people that the filet Mignon has BY FAR better taste, textures and the sauce is great along with the risotto...

I also LOVE New York Strip steaks (and it's more expensive too!:thumbsup2) BUT, I saw a picture of it and it looks to be a big chunck of steak, with not much for sides.

What is YOUR opinion of both. Those are my only two things I'm deciding between. I don't care about the rest of the entrees.

I also plan to get the S'mores dessert- I like the way it looks and sounds!

I am SOOOOOOOO excited that I got this ressie!

OMG the Filet Mignon is to DIE for!! We just returned from our Feb trip and this was our very first time eating there and DH was sitting next to me and he was practically in heaven stating it was the BEST filet mignon he has ever had . Our DS had the NY Strip and also said it was great . . .:thumbsup2

Ooops I forgot to add taste, texture, etc . ..lol Ok well I can only answer for the Filet Mignon . .it was melt in your mouth dreamy . . .that is the best way to describe . . the rosotto was yumm-O and was cooked to perfection . . .

I have had the filet, NY strip and primerib there and IMO the FILET is the BEST thing on the menu. I get mine prepared medium and it is just perfect. Some say that the lunch portion is smaller but I didn't notice it that much. With the cheddar soup/pretzel bread you will have enough room for dessert (although we prefer the chocolate moose there).
Enjoy!!

i agree Filet is amazing! We always sub the risotto for the cream cheese mash potatos and they are terrific!

Love Le Cellier, have since it opened.

What steak I get depends on how much of that luscious cheddar cheese soup I want. In hotter months, the typical scenario goes like this, only a cup of soup, then my son (DS14) and I each get the filet with the mushroom risotto which I love, then we split a maple creme brulee. In colder months, we both like to get a bowl of the soup, therefore we then split the NY strip because the soup and breadsticks are really filling, then I add a side (spinach)and we also split a maple creme brule! I prefer not having doggy bags, steak is really best eaten right then and there and this way I'm not stuffed to the gils like a beached whale, gotta be careful Sea World is close by!

1) I wish I could answer.
2) But, no one has seen the new menus for March.
3) Not sure if there are lunch changes.

agree with RustyScupper...wait a couple of days for someone to get back to us with the new menus. I would bet they will make the lunch menu more "lunch" and less steak house. JMHO, of course.

I wish I could wait a few more days to see what the new menus are! We leave early tomorrow morning...so I cannot. If it's more of a different 'lunch type' menu, we will still be fine with it. Although, I HOPE, HOPE, HOPE they haven't changed it too much!

Last trip I asked our server which steak she recommended, and she said the NY strip. My son ordered that, while I tried the filet. The filet was tender but I thought the sauce was rather bland. The NY strip on the other hand was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! How I wish I'd listened to our server and ordered that instead.

I've only had the filet with the risotto and oh my! DELISH! The year before I had cancelled a lunch reservation at LeCellier (and wish I hadn't) because I thought a steak in the middle of the day would just be too much. I will always TRY TRY TRY to get to this restaurant while in Epcot. It may be overrated, but I loved it. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I have had both and while the strip is good, you can't beat the filet. SO tender and with the risotto, to die for. It really is up to what cut of meat that you prefer, this is just my opinion. Enjoy!!

I was there in january when it was 1TS for lunch and dinner. I had dinner and then returned for lunch.

At dinner, dh had the strip and I had the filet. He ordered the strip because the first thing the waiter said was how good the strip was. It was good - but NOTHING compared to my delicious filet. DH really regretted ordering the strip. The kids had the kid's steaks and they were awful. Bone dry and tough.

At lunch, a new waitress again sang the praises of the strip steak without us asking. (makes me wonder if they were told to push the strip for some reason?). DH ordered the burger (so he could get the soup). It was delicious - one of the best burgers he's ever had. I again ordered the filet.

The filet was noticeably smaller at lunchtime - but just as delicious. The kids ordered the kids steaks again (with me begging our waitress to make sure they weren't overcooked - we also ordered sauce on the side). They were better but naturally, nothing compared to the filet.

It's filet all the way!

p.s. I didn't care so much for the risotto. I liked the flavor etc but it was too salty. The next time, I got the cream cheese mashed potatoes instead (which was delish!) when they told me there was no way to cut down on the salt.
