What is your opinion on loops 1000, 1100, 1200, and 1300. Being close to all the amenities would be great (wishful thinking)... comfort station, bus stop, playground...

I would like to hear your opinion. Our trip is scheduled for Dec 15-22. Do you think I could get the loop I request if I call?

Please share pics of your stay if you have them. Thanks:thumbsup2

1100 loop is one of our favorites noticed on our last trip though that they have cleared a lot of brush so its all open now with little shield from other sites and the road., 1200 & 1300 are also good loops, did not care for the 1000 loop so much

We choose to stay around the Meadow TP area and request a loop each time. I've stayed in 1000, 1200, and 1300 and all are fine except I don't like sites up by the main road and the bus noise comes through my pop-up's canvas at night.

One thing I found being in site 1003 (VERY CLOSE) to the TP was that the trunk that comes nearly every morning to empty the TP dumpsters arrives at about 4:30 A.M. in the morning. And the driver dumps and then sets them on the ground OH SO GENTLY :rotfl2:

But I like having a short walk or quick bike ride to the pool, TP, playground, Bike Barn, campfire/movie theater, tennis courts, etc in that core area. Only in the last two visits did I request specific loops. Both requests were for 900 and the first time we got it, the second time they put me in 1000 right beside it. So it appears they do try to put you in your requested loop or get you close. Good luck!

we are going this weekend and I requested the last site in the 1300 loop becuase it is right next to the playground. We stayed in that one last year and we liked being able to see our children at the playground but we didn't feel like it invaded our privacy either. It is also close to the road but not a problem in our TT... and it is a short ride to the TP and pool. If we get that site I will take pics, but I will need instructions for posting pics...LOL

We stayed in 1100 in June and I second the fact that they cleared a lot of brush out and it seems like you can see through the whole site. The good thing about 1100 and 1200 is that they have recently been paved and any electric has been fixed or upgraded. It is close enough to whatever you need to do.

You can make a loop request when you make your reservation and the CRO agent will note it in the computer on the reservation itself. When you get to a few days out from arriving, you can fax your specific site request (if you have one) directly to Fort Wilderness.

We will be there this weekend too! See you there!

We have stayed in the 1100 loop our last several trips and have enjoyed it primarily due to the undergrowth that provided privacy from site to site. Now I read in this thread that the privacy is gone! :confused3

We are leaving for FW in 10 days and have requested the 1100 loop specifically...do we need to change loops? Does anyone have any other suggestions for loops/sites that are well shaded and provide more privacy from the rest of the sites? P.S. I do not want to pay the extra for a Preferred Site. Thanks.

We stayed on 1321 and loved it. It was at the back of the loop, along the canal. While in the heat of summer, a bit of pool noise might be annoying for those who go the bed early, we had no problems in Feb. This loop was very convenient. We simply walked out from the back of our site, along the canal and were at the TP in seconds, and across the bridge to the campfire and pool in a few seconds more. The bus stop and playground were handy, and the washrooms at the other end of the loop weren't far at all and always very clean. We'd request this loop again.

:::: furiously taking notes for our upcoming December trip ::::::

Its been awhile sence we sy=tayed at the fort. The last time we were in the 1300 loop backing onto the river and loved it. We just came back from disney in May of this year(pop centery resort) and when we were there we went to the fort and noticed the 1300 loop was just being referbished. Im sure it is even better now.

Just got back today and stayed in site 1314. We loved it!! We were right on the canal.. the kids loved fishing.. we could see the pool and stuff and we could hear it at times... but it didn't bother us. We have never stayed near the water, so it was a pleasant surprise!!

We've stayed in all of these loops & my favorite is (1) The 1100 & (2) The 1200. As a matter of fact, these are my favorite loops, period! :thumbsup2

Out of all our many trips to FW since 1985 we have only stayed in the 1000 loop once (all other in the 1600/1700 loops with like 90% in the 1600 which we love, especially the outside back half of the loop) and it was fine, but still prefer the 1600 loop. Old habits die hard :rotfl2:

We just stayed in 1021 over the weekend and didn't like the fact that we couldn't get Direct TV because of the trees, but otherwise, it was a great site because we were close to the road (and lightning) and got to see everyone go by.
