Operation Photopass! First trip to Disney World - TR - COMPLETED 07/16

Caught back up!! More wonderful pics. I loved seeing the memorabilia from the Walt Disney attraction. I love seeing stuff like that!! Can't wait to see if for myself! So how wet did you get on the backlot tour?? I've seen clips & pics of that wave of water coming down....just didn't know how bad it actually gets in the trams.

2 Dooney & Burke bags????? Did I see that right?? Wow~Wow~WOW!!! I love the balloon one!!! :cool1:

The Walt display was so cool to see. I love that stuff too.

We really didn't get that wet on the Backlot Tour. A few drops really, and I was sitting closest to the water. My shoulder maybe had a few big drops, but that's it.

I know, I got spoiled with the bags. Dillon kept insisting to get a second. Who am I to argue with that? :confused3

NICE PURCHASES!!! and GREAT DISCOUNT!!! Those bags are just adorable! That was a great idea to wait and do the purchases at once.

We enjoyed One Mans Dream this past trip too. i'm glad we did. We've never done it before and I don't think we would have this time either except we were SOOO hot and needed a place to cool down fast. LOL so when we saw it we figured we should pop in. Plus DD and I were reading Kingdome Keepers and there was a part about Walt's plans and pens on one of his desks in OMD so that was an extra incentive to check it out. Wish i hadn't waited so long to do it.

I love my bags. I use the big one all the time. The little one I have only gotten to use once so far, but I still love it.

We actually had walked into One Man's Dream just to cool down too, but found that we really enjoyed it, and were glad we made the choice to go in.

After our Backlot Tour, we started thinking about heading for the exit. We still had a long night at Magic Kingdom ahead of us. But first, Dillon really wanted to ride Toy Story Mania, so we decided to get in line. We didn't have fast passes, so unfortunately we had to wait the 40 or more minutes in Stand-by. Dillon wanted to ride that bad, that he didn't care about the wait! At least it was an opportunity for a few photos!

I lost, yet again, lol.

DSC08285.jpg

We then headed over to the shops where I decided I wanted to order a towel set with Seth's name printed on. I just thought it was so cute.

DSC08822.jpg

Then we took our last ride on ToT

DSC08287.jpg

DSC08288.jpg

As usual, we had a comical set of people to make an interesting photo.

And then finally, one last ride on RnRC before we picked up our Towel set and headed out.

It was about 8:00pm by the time we got to our hotel and we rested for a little bit before heading back out to MK at 9:30. The park was open until 2am, and with it being our last night, we were determined to last as long as we could there.

The first thing we wanted to do was ride the train. But unfortunately it was closed for the evening. One thing we tried to do many times, but for some reason we were never able to make it on. :(

So we headed on down Mainstreet where we checked out a few shops, and stopped in Casey's Corner for a snack.

A shot of one of my favourite logos.

DSC08307.jpg

And I wanted to take a last ride on Splash Mountain. I just loved this version. But being in front, I decided a hood was a good idea, lol.

And it seems that we were kinda all over the place this night, as our next stop was the glass shop on Mainstreet.

Wish I coulda picked up one of these little guys.

And then a rather blurry shot of us in front of the castle.

Great pic on TOT. Love that kid sticking out his tongue and them middle row, that guy turning looking at his girlfriend or wife I suppose :rotfl:

Like the pick on RNRC too. That girl behind you looks so bored :lmao:

Cute hoodie

Next we made our way through the castle, and attempted some more photos of it along the way.

And then we wandered through Fantasyland a bit.

DSC08346.jpg

And then, even though we tried to avoid it, tried to ignore it, we passed this ride with no line, so it drew us in.

DSC08348.jpg

NO DANCING!

DSC08351.jpg

It wasn't quite as nice as the Disneyland version. This one they seem to just hum instead of sing the lyrics most of the time, it was kind of strange. Plus I like the Disney touches in the DL version as well. The song still crawls into your bones just as easily though.

After IASW, we headed back over to the Haunted Mansion to get one last ride on it, and did Pirates as well. Then Dillon decided to use a snack point to get a dole whip, since we still had plenty!

We started making our way to Tomorrowland to ride People Mover and then Space Mountain for our last ride of the trip. We ended up waiting in a 25 minute stand by line. Not too bad. Somehow we missed getting our photo on this one though. :confused3

Then we started making our way down Mainstreet again. I took a bunch of photos along the way. I also stopped to pick up a last souvenir for Seth of that Steamboat Willie stuffie. Then we headed over to the candy shop to use up our last 5 snack points. We got a couple of lolipops for Dillon's sisters and our niece, and then I got a rice crispie treat for a snack on the plane later. Then we continued down Mainstreet for the last time.

Donald made with a mop!

And that concludes our time in the parks. It was just before 2:00am when we got on the bus to head to our resort for the last time. When we got there, we decided that since we had to be ready to be picked up at 4:45, we would just stay up. We decided to use up some time to go and swim for a while. It was nice and quiet with it being so late at night. And this time the water was actually warm. Too bad this was the time I decided to only put my feet in since the last couple times we went, it was freezing. And then finally we went back to the room to get our bags packed, shower, and clean up. We would save sleeping for the plane. And this seems to be when I quit using the camera as well, as we seem to have no other photos of the way home.

The bus was a little late getting there but we were at the airport in plenty of time to catch our flight.

The only eventful part of our trip home was trying to get to our next plane when we landed in Toronto. Delta had only given us 45 minutes to run from one end of the airport to the other, and go through customs as well, to get on to our last flight to Calgary. Luckily we made it with only a few minutes to spare. Unfortunately I can't say the same for another couple that had the same issue. They were with us until customs, and then we lost them, and I don't think they made it to the plane. We felt bad for them, but no time to go and find them. :confused3

We arrived in Calgary at the scheduled time, and were walking as fast as we could to get to where my Mom was, as she had Seth with her. As soon as we saw him we ran to give him big hugs, we had missed him so much! I wish we had gotten photos of our first few minutes back with him. He was all smiles to see us.

Then we got in the car to take the hour and a half drive back to Red Deer. Dillon and I ended up passing out on the way, we were just so tired. We seemed to find the car ride more comfortable then the plane!

And then before we knew it, we were home.

All in all, we had an amazing time. Though exhausted, we were so glad that we got the opportunity to do this trip. I never thought I would ever get to WDW. At least not any time soon. I can't wait to go back again someday. Probably when Seth is older so we can take him and he can enjoy the magic with us.

And that concludes my report. Thank you to all who enjoyed tagging along with me. I apologize for some delays along the way. I will be adding a couple more posts for our Photopass photos. There are a lot to go through, so it may take a little while.

The End!

Thanks for the compliments on the photos! We were probably standing in front of the Castle for 20 minutes trying to get various photos, lol.

I am excited for you to go on your trip. Can't wait for your TR! :)

Thank you for reading my TR! Glad that you enjoyed it. And thanks for the compliments on Seth! :)

Man, there were some really small kids on ToT with you, (in front of you).

Love the pic of Splash Mtn and the bored looking couple behind you!

You just gotta do IASW...you gotta...

Like seeing Main Street practically empty.

Oh, the towel for Seth is adorable.

Probably a smart move to stay and go swimming -- but wow!! what a day!!

I'm so glad you guys enjoyed your time at WDW and want to go back again. You should wait until after all of New Fantasyland is complete and/or AvatarLand at Animal Kingdom.

I enjoyed your TR a lot!! So neat to see WDW from the eyes of newbies as you captured photos of things I normally just blow right past!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us Andrea! You had a LONG last day!!

Looks like you had plenty of fun! How many pics did you end up with on the Photopass?

Thanks Paula! It definitely was a long last day.

I think we ended up with a couple hundred before I edited, but not sure how many after, as when they sent them digitally, there were about 5 different folders, and they mixed in some of their standard photos too.

awe :( It's so hard to say goodbye to WDW on the last day! And I agree with you. It's so hard to sleep comfortably on a plane. Cars don't exactly give you much more room so I'm not sure what it is exactly?? Maybe all the goings on of the people on the plane? Or ya, maybe there is a bit more room in a car. LOL.

Hope Seth liked the towel set. It's so cute!

Hahaha...
Will somebody please kindly tell what Mary Poppins is doing next to Stitch? :)

Joining in at the end but wanted to mark my spot so I can come back and read your TR.
