so security opens about 7:30 am right?

when dca opens are the lines big?

also, is it still correct if you enter dca your park hoppers are activated for both parks???

Not sure what time the security gates/lines open up...

I have never really seen DCA become crowded by any means. Longest wait time for me all the times i have been there was like 30 mins for tower of terror and that was once..each time after that it was 5 mins or less.

If you have a park hopper it means its for both parks no matter what as many times as through out the day (or 2 or 3 day or how ever many days u buy for the hopper pass.) have fun! maybe we will see each other there lol

i understand the concept of the parkhopper but my question is can my group all enter ca adventures and then i run over to dl to pick up fastpasses?

or do we all have to enter DL... leave...enter DCA...then me leave and get FP at DL..

lol, that was hard to type!!!

oh so what your asking is if you guys can go to DCA first time of the day, then only you go to DL to grab some fast passes w/ their tickets when they haven't entered DLAND with their hopper tickets yet?? i haven't done it personally but i heard you can..theres a thread on here that i believe stated that you can cuz they work on different systems but maybe it was a diff. question than from what u have.let me look back on some of the threads on this board...but i'm sure one of the disneyland fanatics will prolly get back to you before i find out.

Each ticket has to be scanned at each park, before you can use it for FPs at the park. So if you all go into DL, you can get FPs for DL. But you all have to use your tix at DCA before you can get FPs on all tix.

Remember, DCA opens officially and fully at 10, and unofficially and partially (Soarin', pretty much) at 9:30. So if you're there early enough, just put everyone into Disneyland, then go over to DCA. Everyone can have fun at DCA while you then take their tickets and snag FPs in DL. Of course, you might want to get a FP or two in DCA first.

Explaining that last bit...Grizzly is not connected to other DCA FPs machines, so you can get Grizzly and another in DCA at as close to the same time as you can walk.

Just like Roger Rabbit in DL...it's not connected so you can get RR and another FP right after the other.

Once the family enters ONE park (& gets their Park Hoppers scanned). A runner can scoot into the OTHER park (with all the hoppers) & get FPs for all. Then return to the other park with his/her family.

Read HydroGuy's FP sticky threads for a primer on this:

This last sticky thread pertains to your question....but all the threads make for interesting reading for the FP enthusiast.

Bumbershoot, I said the same thing a couple months ago, and then my mistake was pointed out by Hydroguy, and then I remembered that I'd mixed up my information while I was there. Unless something has changed, activating your tix in one park activates it for both. You and your fam can go in DL, then you can grab all the tix and head over to DCA and get FPs.

I had read this, then my muddled brain forgot and I made my sick kid shuffle downstairs and go through the GCH gate into DCA, and right back out again, so I could get FPs with our tickets. Then I felt bad later when I realized I hadn't needed to.

DCA does get crowded! In early May in the afternoons, wait times for GRR and Soarin were over an hour each and the FastPass line was out of this world! It was so crowded we actually left in the afternoon!

We just got back. We were there last week on Wed/Thurs/Fri. The security tables (to check bags) are open a half hour before park opening (6:30 am on MM days, 7:30 am on other days). This lets you into the main concourse to access both DL and DCA, even though DCA doesn't officially open until 10 am.

DL Park was open on regular days at 8 am (at the gates, no letting in to Main Street) and on MM they let non MM people in to Main Street to line up at ropes.

For DCA, they open the gates at 9:30 am. Soarin' is open and you can either line up at ropes or line up in a special line for TSMM. The Grand Californian gate opens up at 9:30 am, but you must go through the security bag check there at 9:30 am.

No, they let you in-- it's just that sometimes they let you in a little early and get everybody up to the top of main street for rope drop right at 8. Like when we went, they opened the turnstiles at 7:50, and rope drop was at 8.

We were only there for 3 days last week, but in our experience, and from talking to the cast members, they open the gates at 8 am (no early Main Street entrance) EXCEPT on MM, when they let everyone in slightly early to line up for the rope drop.

At DCA, they open up for rope drop each day at 9:30.
