Opening shortcuts? Faster 'lane' in queues? Where to stand at pre-show loading?

I bought the 'Brit's Guide' but my one disappointment with it was there was almost no information on shortcut tips like I've used at WDW. You know, things like when the queue splits take the left side as it's shorter, OR when going to X ride at rope drop, you can cut through X restaurant, OR be standing under X picture at the HM as that is where the doors will open to load...

I found one tip about using the Arcades at DL, during parades, and especially at park opening to get to BTMRR faster, but can I do the same on the other side-Arcade, to get to Space Mountain if we want to go their first thing and where is the rope drop there? Do you have any tips about other queues? I've got a good touring plan for one day park hopping with teens-thrill rides (no shows, no parades) from folks here, but we've only got 9 hours for both parks, so even little tips can help! Thanks!

Well, to be frank....

there just isn't as much running and frantic effort to get to things at opening at DLRP as in America, except perhaps at peak times. So I wouldn't stress too much about it. I have seen this activity at Disneyland CA and WDW even on very slow days at slow times.

For Crush, for instance, people do tend to walk to the entrance of the attraction and queue up once the park opens at 0930hrs but there isn't as much panic as I have seen in America.

So I really have no advice other than unless you are going in peak season you will most likely be pleasantly surprised.

As the previous poster said, there is no such thing at DLP. Well, except for Crush. Be there early and go straight for that ride if you want to do it, but there are no shortcuts.
However, the left lane is usually shorter/ goes faster! (that's a tip that works at every Disney park I have been to, 8 in total).

As for tips like "stand under that picture at HM": that is a tip that will save you... 10 seconds? I mean, it's not like there are hundreds of people IN the elevator that will make for a huge wait once you are out of the elevator.

Don't stress about it. Just go with the flow.

Oh, and yes, the arcades are a faster way to get through Main Street during parades. But as far as I remember, even on very busy days, it wasn't needed to get to BTMRR or so.
