Opening of the New Pirates Ride! We're going to be there!!!!

I just called and changed the dates for our summer trip so that we will be there for the opening of the new Pirates movie and the re-opening of the ride!! I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner! We were so sad that Pirates would be closed during June and now we will be there for the official opening of the ride and the movie!!! I'm so excited. The only problem is that we now have to wait an additional 4 weeks before our trip. So, I called DVC member services this morning and made reservations for the first weekend in March! We are going to go for a quick trip to hold us over!!!

Do you think that Johnny will be there for the debut of his audio-annimatronic?

That's awesome...I tried to convince DH we needed to add a trip in July for this too. He didn't go for it. Anyway, have a great time, and post all the details on here afterwards! If Johnny is there, I might leave my DH at home for it.

That's awesome!! I'll be at home, in the movie theaters watching the new Pirates movie. It looks awesome!!!

I hope they don't change the orginal POTC ride too much. But I'm sure it'll be good *crosses fingers*

I'm sure Johnny will be in CA for the movie's opening. But you can always hope!

We can hope can't we? Although he doesn't strike me as a Disney guy...never know though. My DH has already warned me that they WILL throw me out of the park for touching the animatronics.

I assume that Johnny will be at the Premier which will most likely be at Disneyland again. That is taking place at the end of June. I'm guessing that they will open the Disneyland Pirates ride on the same date as the premier.

The opening of the movie and the Disney World ride is scheduled for July 7. So, I think that he will be at both events! It's not everyday that a ride premiers with an audioanimatronic of yourself, I think he will be there for the big kickoff!!

DH of thread starter here. SO excited about POC reopening. I really doubt that the new AA will take away from the original ride. I don't know if I want Johnny there or not. DW hasn't really given me her take on him, but seems like she'd really like an up close look at him???!!!??? Anyways, my wonderful DW has just bought me the Pirates of the Caribbean video game for XBOX, has anyone ever played this? was it any good? also, I got DW the new Pirates cereal from our local grocer. Can't wait to try it. Pirates rock!!!!!!!!! Unless, you're Peter Pan, I guess.

OWEEEE, I hope not! Not that I wouldn't love for Pirates open earlier but, we won't get there until July 3rd! I think that Ricky on Inside the Magic was the one who said that it should be opening on July 7th. I guess we will all have to wait for the official word but, if any of you hear anything else - Keep us posted!!!

I was soooo disappointed about the closure, as we will be there may 26-june5 and I just love POC. There is no way to change our dates. Oh well, we will still be at wdw, just without poc. I must go on that ride 5-10 times during our visits. Have fun and enjoy POC for me!
