Edit to add: I did put a deposit down but waiting to see what RCCL prices are when they come out next month.

WHEW. That's a lot. This is the cruise that we want, but wow, those prices are eye-popping. Will probably still put down a deposit, but wow. It hurts a little for sure. That works out to around $1500/day (we've got two kids so more per day). And it's giving me heartburn for sure. BUT, I wonder, would I be able to do the same trip, with the same number of countries and food for four people, hotels, etc., etc., etc. for the same amount? Or maybe I'm just justifying spending that much money!

My deposit for a 7A was just under $900

No, not yet. We already have a cruise booked for the fall of that year on NCL, but our son will be in college so he can't go. We aren't sure if he can even go in the summer, though - darn these ambitious college students and their planning and working for their future! ). Lots to figure out. Maybe either the EBTA or one of the 7 night Med. I Probably will book one of the DCL cruises and then decide later whether to keep it or the NCL as our son's plans firm up.

How old are your kids? NCL's Breakaway is doing that itinerary in 2018 out of CPH. My teens love the Breakaway. I highly recommend the family oceanview rooms (with the purple accents). Huge bathroom, nice location, a curtain between the bunks/queens, and you could get it for less than $5K total for 9 nights.

My oldest is this way. It's kind of bittersweet. The only reason I'm on these boards looking at DCL in Europe is because I'm only taking my 13 year old next year. If all four of us were going I wouldn't even consider DCL.

1,500 a night is pretty steep. You can get a pretty swanky room at the 4 seasons on the club level next to Disney plus some really good meals and park tickets for less per night.
