5 night out of Miami
2A 2C (11 & 9) - 10A $4699 no OBB

That's almost $1K/day for inside cabin...jeez

What's nuts is this is costing more for an inside than we are paying on the 11-night in a verandah!

Yes they are homeschooled. I'm not sure we can continue this through high school. They are currently 12 and 13. I work full time, but I'm a nurse so it's 3 12 shifts per week which leaves 4 days a week for year round school. My husband works for an airline so we don't have to pay for flights. We do fly standby. The last 7 years have been fun with all the off season traveling, and we've done a lot of traveling. I know a lot of people home school through high school. If I want to continue this I need a plan...and maybe a tutor for certain subjects. They are really good kids, and I have no regrets with the path we chose. Although my 12 year old swears he's learned nothing from all the trips, and he's just in it for the "free" ice cream.
Half the reason we will continue homeschooling through high school is so we can travel! ;). But seriously, we intend to go all the way. There are tons and tons of resources for high school. And we don't ever consider trips to be "school," the way some do. It's my vacation, too. I'm not working on vacation!
That said, we really really want to do a Panama Canal and a trans-Atlantic, which I would actually consider pretty educational. And given that my kids are already 12 and 9, that won't happen if they are in traditional school, which is too bad. It means so many kids won't ever be able to see the Panama Canal just because their schools have a "policy." :(

I cant book till tomorrow at 8am(Gold)...well 5am really because Im in San Diego...so will be up early to do so...this thread is so handy thanks Gold for posting so we little people can get a jump on booking :)

If you are gold, you could have booked on opening day (yesterday)!

I'm definitely impressed with some of the prices I'm seeing. It sounds like some people got some good deals (for DCL, so it's all relative, of course ;) ). But it looks like DCL may finally have realized the lunacy of their prices lately. That's good news!

I agree -- we are paying several hundred less for next years WBTA than we paid in 2007 and we were amazed by the pricing. Although on other dates and itineraries it still seems to be skewed and out of range. My TA said that they've had a LOT of complaints about Disney's pricing so maybe Disney is seeing that they don't have the family cruising locked in the industry like they thought and are getting more reasonable :confused3

Those are my thoughts exactly. Some of the prices actually made me pause. They were closer to what I had seen a couple of years ago (closer, not as low as, alas). But some are pretty darn ridiculous still. It does make you wonder if there are some cruises that really really aren't selling well.

My TA said the WBTA don't sell as well as the eastbound or the Panama Canal -- which pricing seemed ridiculous compared to our sailing in 2005.

I got my TA email and cautiously scrolled down to the price -- I was so shocked I called to make sure this was for the right cruise LOL! I will miss being onboard for the extra nights, but we'd be nuts to pass up this deal! I was budgeted for $6,800 -- so the $2,500 less gives us our airfare!

Just booked our first B2B! Thank you DCL for bringing the Wonder back to San Diego for October 2017!

Cruise 1:
10/1, 4 night Baja 2A/2K (17&16)
10A - secret porthole $2731.60
(800/800/380/380, tax 371.60)

Cruise 2:
10/5, 3 night Baja 2A/2K (17&16)
10A - secret porthole $2707.96
(780/780/375/375, tax 396.96)

I can't believe the 4 night is only $24 more than the 3 night, don't quite understand that pricing but oh well. We'll be gold on the second leg and we'll be able to celebrate our 21st anniversary on the ship. These cruises work perfectly for our fall break schedule!

Here is what i have on hold till tomorrow....I cant decide which one I want....Usually do a Verandah but this time just a porthole :) so hard to book a cruise without my older son who will be in college :( I have been waiting for the 7 night to come back to SD...we live in SD about 20 minutes from the port....its a no brainer...sure wish they would bring the 7 night/MR back more.....

Oct 22 2017....5 night Baja ...3A... 9B $2855.36
OR
Oct 15 2017 ...7 night Mexican Riviera 3A... 9B $3903.76
Can I park my car at your house while we're on our cruises? I'd do the 7 night if I was you, that's what we were hoping for but couldn't with out school schedule.

I took my son out for 2 weeks this year, he will be out 9 nights this coming fall, and then again in 2017.

He attends a private school and they do not have a policy against vacations, but I won't take him out for more than one.

There are Sooo many times when I wish I could homeschool! It would be nice to do all trips during the school year!

Im sure we'll keep homeschooling. We have a jr college walking distance from our house so I think at some point maybe age 16, 17,18 theyll be able take classes there. We dont do school on vacation either. I think they learn on their own. Ive always used a combination of traditional school and unschooling. I wasn't thrilled with the panama prices next year, but Im sure we'll cross that off the list at some point.
