why would the fantasy cruise sailing from 30th april 7 nights be more expensive that some of the ones leaving early april in 2016?i noticed sprain break is first two weeks in april so i would have thought this cruise would have been quieter?am i missing something?

yes i know easter is early in 2016 so i assumed the week or so after easter would be busy and then april end-may would be a quieter time but looking at these prices i imagine not?
maybe it would be better for me now to wait and book in may?

I am considering April 3 as well. The DCL website shows the same ports as this thread. What are you being told is the itinerary?

I got a few quotes for giggles since we are already booked with RCCL in 2016.

I would love to do a Southern but we can't sail in January. I actually found this to be "reasonable" by DCL standards but once you factor in airfare it gets quite costly. The 9C was cheaper than an inside for some reason....

We sailed in April of this year so I took a peek at some April sailings. I HAD this very same cruise booked for 2015 but had to cancel due to testing dates being changed. The price has increased by about $300.

I really wanted to sail the Fantasy but at these prices, I will skip it. These prices definitely reaffirm for me that we made the right choice in choosing RCCL Allure of the Seas for May 2016. Next year will be the first year that we are not taking a DCL cruise since we "discovered" it in 2012 but I refuse to pay outrageous summer prices. I can only imagine what summer pricing will look like for 2016.

Closer you get to end of May prices go up even more (closer to summer vacation). I just checked from Jan-April 2016 for all Eastern Caribbean prices and really see no difference or price break even during January (slight) or February. I figured these would be even more off-peak times then end of April would.
