** OPENING DAY PRICING 2016 Pt 1 January - April: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

The week before Easter on the Fantasy increased by 160% from 2013/2014 to 2015. The rates for 2016 so far appear to have increased even more. For those of us who have cruised on DCL for a while now, it's impossible to ignore what we have paid for the exact same rooms in recent years and just accept the current rates.



If people haven't gotten quotes from DCL and posted them in this thread, they aren't going to be listed.

Specialty week cruises may have gone up, (I haven't looked at the numbers yet), but looking at the last week in January for Easter on the Fantasy, for an 11A, 2016 is actually $14.00/person cheaper than 2015. I can hardly wait for the second part of the year to be released so I can book, so excited about Tortola!

Think you should have used CAPS on insane. Based upon the one posting for the March 12th I am figuring 7k for 2A2C for a balcony especially since we paid 4k for the same cruise in 2013. Lots of options for a 4 night cruise that week but we have zero interest in something that short. If there was a 5 night that week (like next year) we would at least consider it. Find out for sure tomorrow but time to start exploring options.

Spoke with my TA. Seems a couple of glitches plagued DCL today, most costly one being the oceanviews being so much cheaper. Second glitch was requiring a 20% discount on 7 night cruises booked onboard...should only be 10%.

I booked the freaky high March 12th Fantasy, but fully expect to move it to late May 2016 when the rates come out and when I have new dummy bookings on my May 2015 Dream cruise. This cruise was well over $1000 more than the exact same cruise, week and cabins for 2014.

The ports were changed from the announcement of the 2015 cruises to the actual opening day itineraries, so anything is possible. However, I used the brochure Scott posted to create these lists. If you have seen it, the cruises are not listed in date order and there are many *s noting different ports within the same grouping of itineraries. Even trying to be careful about getting the right ports to the right date and ships with multiple ships listed within the same itinerary listing, it isn't difficult to get something mixed up.

Again, I am meaning it isn't too bad when comparing 2016 pricing on DCL to other 2016 pricing on DCL on a per person per night basis. That's all I am saying. Not comparing DCL pricing to other cruise lines. Not comparing DCL 2016 to previous years. Just comparing the 4 cruises the person I quoted originally had posted b/c she said "Yikes" to the 7-Nt. on the Fantasy, but not to any of the 4-Nt. prices that she posted. But when comparing those specific cruises as per person per night pricing, they are virtually the same price (within a few dollars) with the exception of 1 of the 4-nighters being about $50-$60 cheaper on a per person per night price comparison.



That's all.

I said "yikes" because for my family of 4, it would cost me approximately $1,021/night for the 7 night Eastern over spring break. Four nights on the Magic costs $780/night. I think that difference of $241/night is significant. It used to be that the longer cruises would cost a little less on a per night basis, but apparently that is not the case during holiday times. Bummer.

That shows that it isn't just the two weeks of prime spring break time that has increased ridiculously from 2014 pricing.
