We were quite surprised at the pricing considering it usually shocks us ;)

We did a back-2-back in the Med and always wanted to do another. Since this only amounts to 12 nights and 2 weeks off, it worked out perfectly.

Hi Lisa! :wave2:

Just an FYI: The deposit requirements are 20%, even for the transferred ressie made onboard.

:flower3:

Clarification, please -- I am transferring a reservation made for October 2015 to a Southern in January 2016 instead. Are you saying I have to pay another 20% on top of the what was paid for the original ressie? Or just the difference between the two?

You will have to pay 20% of the new booking, but they can transfer your deposit from the original booking.

Sorry for any confusion.
At one time, onboard bookings were made with 10%...just clarifying it's 20%. So you would only need to pay any incremental difference, not another 20%. :)

These pricing threads are so great/helpful. It made my decision whether or not to sit on the phone for who knows how long tomorrow so much easier. I won't! Was looking at the Fantasy for spring/Easter break. With a little difficulty, I probably could have swallowed the cruise cost....but air is always expensive at that time of year... In the end, I just can't justify the $$$ for those boring ports! Happy cruising to all those who are happy with what they got!

Again, I am meaning it isn't too bad when comparing 2016 pricing on DCL to other 2016 pricing on DCL on a per person per night basis.
That's all I am saying. Not comparing DCL pricing to other cruise lines. Not comparing DCL 2016 to previous years. ...

The week before Easter on the Fantasy increased by 160% from 2013/2014 to 2015. The rates for 2016 so far appear to have increased even more. For those of us who have cruised on DCL for a while now, it's impossible to ignore what we have paid for the exact same rooms in recent years and just accept the current rates.

Not seeing any price quotes for the Magic cruises that include Tortola. Am I missing something?

If people haven't gotten quotes from DCL and posted them in this thread, they aren't going to be listed.

One thing that you have to factor in with the SJ cruises is the increase airfare to get there for the initial cruise.

You used to be able to transfer OBBs and keep the 10% deposit. For some reason, today it is requiring an additional 10% to be made. One of the DCL reps said it is a glitch in the system but who knows.

This is us today. I have 12 nights in balconies on Oasis (Royal) and Eclipse (Celebrity) in Jan/Feb 2016 for what the same week on the Fantasy is quoting for the most basic inside. That doesn't even take into consideration OBC (about $400 worth) and free drink package (including alcohol) for the 5 night.

Disney has officially priced us out of 7 night cruises.

Dream cruise should be 02-15-2016. Sorry! I corrected my original post.

BTW - I retained my ability to pay 10% deposit from my onboard booking. (I did not have to put 20% deposit down today). Not sure why I keep seeing that others had to pay 20%? I know that 20% deposits are needed for cruises sailing for less than 7 nights. Does that account for folks paying 20% deposit today?

There was a "glitch" with the DCL system and it wouldn't allow the booking to be completed until the 20% was paid. Trust me, I explained direct to the DCL c/m with the Costco rep with me on the phone this was not normal and asked them to escalate, which she did and was told it was 20%. So I paid it then heard it was corrected and naturally had to spend another 1.5 hours calling to get it refunded back to my Disney Vacation savings account - which will be there in 7-10 days.

Glad it was fixed for others and sometimes the early bird doesn't get the worm - lol :rotfl2:
