We currently have our Magic Kingdom day planned for July 17 to take advantage of the deluxe evening hours for my 11 year old son and husband to enjoy. The whole family (5yo twins included) plans to spend the morning at Magic Kingdom (no park hoppers). I’m now concerned about the timing of that because I believe with the country bear opening, that area along with Tiana’s will be packed!! I’m honestly thinking of delaying our trip a week just for less crowds but am not 100 percent sure that’s necessary. (no additional charges I’ve checked) If anyone has been during an opening day attraction like that, any suggestions would be much appreciated!

It may be very busy in the morning as all the bloggers and vloggers cover the opening of CBJ, but I would not expect those people to stay for the entire day. I would think that after lunch most of them will be off covering the next new thing, and the park will be more normal. CBJ doesn’t attract the same sort of crowds that a new thrill ride like Tron would. If I had plans already in place to be there at that time I would not change them just because of CBJ. The thing to be watchful for is whether Tiana, which is a thrill ride of sorts, causes any crowd issues when it opens the end of this month. If it goes right back down to normal a day or two after opening, then I believe you will be fine. If it runs at capacity and can’t meet demand even after the first couple of days, then it may impact you more than CBJ.

We're going to be there that week July 17th-22nd with park days 18th-21st. We can't delay. Going to roll with it. We recently were at DL with Space Mountain reopening day. We had no clue. It was fine. We did standby 60 minutes wait & G+ about 20 minutes. Now with lands opening aka Toontown & Star Wars oh boy, best secret to those was and is to go after 4pm. Got on RoTR (never been before) after 4 pm with a standby 35-minute wait. We loved the standby line design & the ride itself.
