Good luck, Wheat Thins.....we had an ice storm here 3 years ago and no power for 7 days. I feel your pain. At least you're in a hotel. DH would not leave the house. Brought a whole new meaning to "keep the home fires burning."

Ice Storm Tip: unplug everything in the house. The surge killed everything when the power came back on.........

We are getting the snow they were calling for. But I am heading out to Church in a few. UMA did you say you called in sick for church, you can do that We usually just don't go. Lacto said last night his church was cancelled but I never heard of church being cancelled either.

morning everyone. I am still wondering about going into the World Showcase bathroom in Germany.....okey maybe I need my coffee.........it is just starting with the snow......Yup the green grass and the buds of the rhubarb pushing up thru the ground will be history later.......sad isnt it.
yesterday the credit union was robbed right in our neighborhood....the detectives were going around asking questions......Megara actually barked madly at the detective when he came here......She is usually so calm and excited when people come in....
When we had no power for a week, we ate food that was cooked on top of our stove. I opted for a gas stove when we remodeled....only thing was the oven does not ignite with a flame......just the top burners do.......we had no heat or fireplace here but stayed because of our baby Jasmine......they would not allow dogs in the shelters......we had a great time with friends and neighbors and relatives......once we fed 16 people here. ALOT OF BODY HEAT made it warmer. people were good to each other and helped others out. My neighbor was able to use her stove and cooked chickens for the neighborhood.....it was also beautiful out. The ice on the tree limbs at that time was outstandingly beautiful. But then they came tumbling down. Maine had alot of the soft wood trees broken in half and still to this day are limbless....

Hope this storm fizzes out and those without power or to much snow ....I hope that you are all okey..

Geez, man, at least treat your family to a fancy hotel if you're going to wait out the ice storm. You'll only be there, say 3, 5 days tops Seriously, though, my dad is actually there, too, on business, so I imagine his hotel room is getting a bit small by now.
