That was great NAB!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Yes. The power is back on in my house. Today my 8 year old son and I met with one of my clients. Then, since we were so close to the horse track went and watched the ponies all day. What a great way to WASTE an afternoon. Cigar, horses, something to occupy the terror. It was great. And, I didn't lose much either. Ha.

How much did you bill your client for the "consultant"?

Ok: I have to go bake a cake. Maybe I'll even put on pearls and heels and a frilly apron...... hahahahahahahaha

Twinkie you are only making hubby's cake now. I think he would like that look you just said since you didn't mention any clothes. :lmao: Don't think you will get the cake made...just saying.

P.S. The Schwan's guy is supposed to stop by here tonight, LOL.

Moo, are you getting serviced tonight? No rain, nor sleet, or rain or snow shall keep the Schwan's guys from their appointed route!

Twinkie, loved your post really, so welcoming and heartfealt!

I don't fly much and don't know what to tell him to do. This is his first canceled due to weather mid flight experience. He is 19, btw, so I am not worried about him being alone and all. This just stinks.

Any idea how he could find a close in hotel that is not already booked solid by displaced travelers? I have no ideas. Or, um, any advice for sleeping at O'Hare?

(ps I posted this on the CB too, I know there is a Chicago group here somewhere)

Oh, Haley, I'm so sorry to hear that. Travel delays really stink. Is it a full travel stop?

I don't have any suggestions other than maybe to have him buy one of those cushy neck pillows and find a seat in a relatively quiet area if he can't get the people at the counter to help him with a hotel.

I found this about flight cancellations:

Well, Uma, on that note, I think its time for a round of drinks!

Isaac, hot Grog for all frozen peeps, and hot tea for the non-alcoholically persuaded, please

Pumba, I really would have applauded you, but I missed the letting your hair loose part...........

But love is blind
And I was to blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh, oh
Oh, yes

that brings back to many darn memories ....loved that song.......

2 years ago December my daughter flew from Orlando to Philly and stayed there two days because of snow storms....she was to scared to take a cab to a hotel so she slept on the floor of the gate she was flying out of....they would not let the passengers go to the areas where they had nice big rockers.......you had to stay in the gate areas.....oh well.....she said never ever again go during snow season alone.....

Here's a really fabulous song by the Association, Circa 1967 (good year!)

It was a very good year, I actually heard them play that in concert in either 67 or 68 when I was a freshman.

yup joe, It was a very good year........the year that we were wed.....40 years coming up in May........can ya believe that.....still with the guy.....or as he said.....what do you mean.......its at least 60 years......then I get to smack him:lmao:

Haley - Any updates on Ryan?

Uma - Were you even born when that Windy song came out???

Good evening friends!

So, do I need to sing for you all? Or can I just critque you all?

Haley - Any updates on Ryan?

I was born just after that song came out! My mom swears my name was mostly influenced by Wendy Darling of Peter Pan, a favorite book of hers. :confused3 She used to sing it for me! My parents were Hippies.

I was also looking for "The Age of Aquarius!" That is a really good one too. And anything by the Monkees! :rotfl:

When the mooooonnn is in the seventh sign (sun?)...
and Jupiter aligns with Mars.....

(or something like that)

Love that song! :teeth:
