Open Late?

During a trip to WDW a while back, it seemed like pretty much every night we were there, they would announce around 6 or 7 that the Magic Kingdom was going to be open an hour or two later than the stated closing time. This was January, and not during a particularly busy time, so it was changing the closing from 9 to 10 or 11, as I recall. We were there for a week, and it was so common that we began expecting it, and I don't recall ever being disappointed.

Does that happen at DLR as well?

Not really, because Disneyland is typically open later than Magic Kingdom is.

It does not happen often at the DLR. Occasionally, they will add extra night time entertainment, but that is very rare as well

It has happened in DCA but not so much in DLR.

And this has only happened a few times when they realize it's busier than their scheduled closing of 11pm, they leave it to close at midnight instead. It's very rare they'll close at 1am instead of midnight.

to the OP: Disneyland Park is typically closed later than Magic Kingdom is, and fireworks start earlier, allowing for guests to enjoy the park more after that's over.. Typical peak season closing is at midnight, or 11pm on a peak Saturday. If a Peak season Saturday happens to be a tad bit more crowded, they'll leave it for a midnight closing instead.

DCA rarely gets a late closure, as the TDA team would rather have guests ushered out of DCA to get into Disneyland instead. If DCA closes later, it's most likely during private events like Grad Nights or specific AP events.

We have experienced this as well. It was a few (or more) years back at Halloween-time.
