i started my new job as 2nd in dept in d&t last thursday and it has been announced new head has "requested" an ofsted before half term, so we have 5 weeks to get sorted, if we are lucky!!
i just feel so drained, its only 6 weeks since my op and nearly dying, not going back to work wa snot an option due to money, but i never expected this extra pressure!!
just needed to rant!

 sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. Roll on the christmas holidays :goodvibes. Hope everything goes well for you.

Blimey Tracy, that is hard work. We had Ofsted this time last year and tbh, I'd rather have it now than have it hanging over you. Also, once it is over, you will at least be able to enjoy half-term! I always hate this first week. I've taught 180 new students this week, not to mention the ones I am teaching again for a second year:scared1:

Our school is just about to go through a HMIe inspection :scared:
All the teachers will be nice to the parents now ;)

I guess if changes are needed , probably best to be seen to acknowledge something needs done!

You'd be surprised how many schools do - it means they're more "in control" of the timing (if they're lucky) . . . so in that window of when Ofsted may appear all the dots can be dotted and t's crossed, so to speak.

Luckily we had our Ofsted at school back in April - had the call to say they were arriving the following day on the day we returned from Easter break:scared1: OMG, now that WAS a long half term.

As admin officer, I get more concerned, ok scared:eek::sad1:, about our office audit, that's just down two of us:rolleyes1

Good luck - just keep smiling, they'll think your mad and feel sorry for you:grouphug:

Good luck, hopefully soon it will be over. I totally know how you feel. My school has been in a category for the past 3 years (for the past 1 1/2 years we did not deserve to be IMHO for a variety of reasons). We have had inspections (LEA, HMI, OFSTED) almost every 1/2 term for the past 3 years!!! We too will have an OFSTED either December/January/February time (we hope December so we can enjoy Christmas!) Let's hope it passes quickly and is pain and stress free!!

thanks guys:goodvibes
the head is new, he wants to know where the school is, and what needs to be done, he is an ofsted inspector and thinks it will be less biased if done properly, rather than him doing it himself.
when i trained about 6 years ago, i learnt all this stuff, you do it automatically but trying to remember the terms etc, is hard. we ll get there, im sure, but its a lot to take on, ill keep you posted!...
