I created another Disneyland addict monster.

DD13, as introduced as my companion in my trip report below, sat at the dinner table last night, put her face in her hands and moaned, "I wanna go back to Disneyland!"

I said maybe in three years when I take DD10 for HER mom/daughter trip, she can come along. She says she can't wait another three years. She says now she is having the post-trip Disney withdrawals, and she can't hold out for even a year. :rotfl:

We had such a good time, and she became something of a DL expert along with me. Now she can't get enough. Talking about California Screamin' is enough to get that wild gleam in her eye.

Sigh. What to do, what to do. Tell her to save babysitting money? Hmmm...

It was bound to happen! She was bitten by the bug, or hit by the Snowball Effect, or whatever! I am still convinced that Disneyland pumps into its air some sort of chemical cocktail that we breathe in, which takes over our minds (in a happy, pleasant way), seeps into our blood and makes us want to return to DLR almost immediately, no matter how impractical! It happens to all of us, no matter what age! I can see that to your daughter, three years seems like an eternity. Maybe you can compromise and go back in 1-1/2 years? I hope you guys can find a way to finagle another trip soon. I don't know what it is - if it IS truly some sort of evil mind control experiment that DLR is practicing, or if it is truly just the fact that a trip to DLR means fun and sheer joy and happiness, fantasy and magic, almost from beginning to end, with very little in the way of the stress or worries that bog us down in the real world, but whatever it is, it has taken control of all of us!:goodvibes

LOL Sounds my whole family....good luck, I hope you can go back before 3 years comes and goes. :)

I know exactly how she feels. I just returned last week and already want to go back!

Ah...... I think that is just so nice and cute too! :) I am hoping that you and your daughter will be able to visit again, within a years time. Remember........complimentary admission on one's birthday. And then there is that $30.00 discount for the AP. And....... from January of 09 through the end of April 2009, "Everyone Plays At The Child's Price" promotion ; Example, A 3 day park hopper will be $149.00. : ) Then of course there is the sweepstakes for the grand prize of a trip for four to either WDW or to DL......

Just some food for thought........ :)

My entire family is this way. My dh had only been once before we started dating. He just was there last week, will be there next month and in april and then wdw in dec but just asked if he thinks we could squeeze in one more trip next year :) lol

Hey Sherry what happened to your turkey? he he........ ;) :)

I was wondering that myself tonight! I notice that sometimes my ticker appears and then disappears for a while, without interference from me at all! I think Gail's ticker was broken at one point, too, if I am not mistaken, and Gisele, you had ticker issues! I haven't touched anything, so I will see if everything reappears tomorrow! I have the names of everyone who gobbled me (including yours - thank you!) but it won't do much good if there is no turkey. My ticker is totally gone for right now!

Gotta love modern technology! Anyway, I will be back on either later tonight or tomorrow!:goodvibes

When I was attempting to change my signature, it made me a bit nuts! OMG! So I know the feeling all to well. ;) :)

Sounds like my DS and me. I call him my Disney partner. Maybe have her look into selling some of her old toys, clothes, etc., on Ebay to help finance the trip? That may help defray the costs. Good luck!

Wow! It must be contagious!

Ever since our trip in August both my kids (DD16 and DS12) constantly say, "You know what would be awesome? To go to Disneyland today!"

We upgraded our 8 day park hoppers to AP's in anticipation of returning next summer. Well, the kids begged and pleaded and we are going in December (one month from today!)

The obsession has taken over our family.

Honestly, this board doesn't help! LOL! The more I read the more the obsession grows.

I used to think my DH and I were "weird" to love Disneyland so much....but now we have passed that on to our kids. And well, now I found all of you and you are just like me! :goodvibes

Living in Washington State is it tough to be so far way. But with airfare as low as it is right now ($74 each way to Long Beach) is hard not to get on a flight today! Only 30 days........

I have to say our house had Disney fever as well lol. After our first trip (Dec 05) my DH said okay been there done that. Well a little over a year later we went back again and since then we've been 3 more times for a total of 5 times. We even bought AP's this last trip. My kids are constantly comparing things to DL. My youngest keeps telling everyone that he is having his birthday party at Disenyland. Kinda hard since we are from Alberta Canada :rotfl2: .

Aw Gail, poor girlie! The airfare is so reasonable, but as soon as you have to start multiplying it by more than one it starts getting painful!

"......maybe in three years....."

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Sounds like you've got a wing girl Avalon. :thumbsup2

We are just going to miss you...sort of. We will be arriving the 16th! :)

Yes! I know what you mean! We sort of feed off each other with this obsession! I used to swear up and down that I would never take any kids to DL until they were old enough to go on all the rides and I certainly would never take a stroller. Well, I just couldn't resist after spending time on these boards and reading about everyone else going to DL and here we are getting APs with our DS3 who not only can't go on the big rides but also will be reluctant to go on any rides at all and of course, he will need a stroller. :rotfl:

Try living with four other Disney-freaks! I guess that explains our vacations over the past year (coughcoughthreetripstoDLandWDWcoughcough).

35 days until we leave again. Can't.Wait.

This is certainly not the place to come if you want to be talked OUT of going to DLR! And it's not that everyone tries to talk anyone IN to going, because it seems like everyone here understands financial, geographical and time constraints all too well. It is simply that we all love DLR so much that when we come on here and join in lively discussions about it and all the fun to be had there in terms of food, pictures, shopping, characters, rides, etc., that it fuels the fire! As LavenderPeach said, we all sort of feed off each other. I was perfectly fine with trying to plan a tentative little DLR trip in late December, but after looking at photos here on DIS and hearing that the decorations are slowly going up, I am like a madwoman possessed, trying to figure out how to get back to DLR in early December so I don't have to wait so long to see the holiday stuff!!! Madness, I tell you! Madness!
