I just called my guide and added on another 50 points (25 at VWL and 25 at BWV). Plus, I'm still waitlisted for 72 points at BCV.

Once those waitlisted points come in, I've promised her "no more add-ons until CRV is announced"...

That's awesome! I am not moving as fast but I just joined in May 2007 and I just added 50 points at SSR. I am going to save up for points at OKW. I have been wanting to do OKW since it was just called the Disney Vacation Club resort. I don't know if I want to do CRV, but if they ever do a Polynesian Village DVC, I will be all over it. Then, I will truly feel at home! Ah, back in the islands. I may change my mind once CRV comes online. I have personally decided that CRV is no longer a rumor. I am sure Disney knows how eager everyone is to jump on that one. They would be stupid not to do it.

I totally understand. I just bought into the DVC (AKV) in May and I am already thinking about calling my guide and adding on another 50 points. Well, to be honest...I called her yesterday, but she is on vacation until next week. So, I decided to wait until she comes back instead of talking to one of the guides that is filling in for her.

Yes, I bought 210 points at AKV on May 5, 2007, and now I sit here with 390 points, I am waitlisted for 72 more, for a possible 462 points.

My wife loves Disney as much as I do, but I risk serious physical harm if I were to buy any more points.

Of course, if CRV is announced, all bets are off...

Curious about what you plan for the 25 point contracts - 25 points doesn't seem like much to work with as far as the 11 month window goes. Are you planning vacations every other or every third year? If so, what are you going to do with the "extra" points. (I can't see how 25, 50 or 75 will be exactly the amount you need for a vacation). Or are you planning to split your vacation between 2 or more resorts?

I understand why members choose to own at more than one resort, but I always wondered about those who only buy the smaller contracts.

I own 90 points at VWL and 90 points at BWV. For both of these, I purchased the 90 points as separate add-ons:

VWL: 40 + 25 + 25 (total of 90)
BWV: 40 + 25 + 25 (total of 90)

My initial purchase of 40 points was to allow me to book a 1-BR for Sun-Thu night every 3 years. I then added on in two 25-point increments to allow me to change that to every other year and to add an extra night.

Instead of just buying the 90 points all up front in one purchase, this will allow me to dial down my invetment in a particular resort if I'd like to.

If they announce future resorts, for example, I could shed one or two of my 25 point BWV purchases on the resale market.

So, the two reasons I have done this are:

1) I can dial down the points I own at a resort without having to sell off all the points there
2) Smaller point packages seem to sell faster in the resale market than larger point packages
