We have a reservation for lunch at LTT and I was wondering about this famous dessert. I'm now on a very strict diet (lost 20 pounds so far) and lunch will consist of the Colony Salad (minus the shrimp) and a shared Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake after lunch. My mom is not on a diet and I'll feel bad having some of her dessert if it's not big enough to satisfy two people. Should I order one for each of us or is one dessert enough?

You'll be fine splitting one. If she wants something later there are plenty of places where she can pick up a sweet snack.

My daughter and I split it. It was so rich we were happy with half portion each.

PLENTY. We always split it. We've actually split that salad (they even brought it out on two plates) then split the dessert. Perfect - filling without full.

Our family of 5 ordered 2 of them and we had plenty. It was delicious and one of the few Disney foods that lived up to the hype!

I would love to try that one too! I actually made a reservation at LTT because of the Boston Cream Pie! Can I ask, has anyone had it?

Went with my mom in May and we shared 1 and it was plenty. I had the colony salad as well and it is huge.

My wife and I eat at LLT for lunch every year. One time, she ordered the oooey gooey toffee cake and I asked for a second spoon.
I pretty much pulled a stump back. While it IS enough to share, some people just may not want to.
We always order one for each of us.

Your plan sounds very familiar to us. My wife and I each get the colony salad for lunch and share the Oooey Gooey for dessert. It's plenty for us, and so yummy!

How... on this green earth... in 35 years of annual visits to this park... have I NEVER BEEN TO THE LIBERTY TREE TAVERN AND NEVER HAD THAT DESSERT? :scared:

DH, DD14 and I ate at LTT last summer. DD and I ordered salads, DH ordered the turkey platter. I came for dessert lol. We then ordered the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake and a fruit cobbler. I was surprised at how small they both were! I have seen pictures of the cake and it was served on a large plate. Ours was served in a tiny dish (as was the cobbler). The cake was for me and the cobbler was for DH and DD ate some of both. She preferred the cake and it took a lot for me not to order another one.
But, I'm sure your mother would be willing to share. Especially knowing you're trying to watch what you're eating. If she wants more, swing by the Confectionary!

In most cases it is big enough to be shared by two. Notice I said in "most cases." Anyone comes near my Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake risks the loss of limb. :rotfl2:
:lmao: Im with you on that!

Can you? Yes. Would I? NOT on your life! By far the best dessert at the MK.
Yes! ::yes:: definitely the best.

Its big enough to share, 100%. I can eat, and I even found this dessert plenty for two. But im selfish with yummy desserts though...this dessert is AMAZING. No way im sharing. I want my own. :teeth: But yes its plenty to share.

We were all seriously underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but tasted like a warmed cookie from the grocery store.
