Two Tough Questions

Question 1:

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who
were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally ********, and she had
syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the response for this one.

Question 2:

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts.

Here are the facts about the three candidates.

Who would you vote for?

Candidate A.

Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist.

He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B.

He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in
college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C.

He is a decorated war hero.

He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an
occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be our choice?

Decide first... no peeking, then scroll down for the response.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Candidate B is Winston Churchill.

Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question:

If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Wait till you see the end of this note! Keep reading..

Never be afraid to try something new.

Remember:

Amateurs...built the ark.

Professionals...built the Titanic

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company that has a litt le more
than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
* 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
* 3 have done time for assault
* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
* 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
* 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year...

Can you guess which organization this is?

Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.

The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to
keep the rest of us in line.

I read this on a bulliten. I thought it was really interesting.
Thoughts?

On the general point of the thread. I really really REALLY try very hard not to judge people.

For example, if you look on the TPAS board right now you'll find all kinds of "What's the thing that bothers you most at WDW?" or "Tell me about a time you've rolled your eyes at something that happened at WDW." Etc.

I try not to think about those things. I have absolutely no idea what that persons story is.

Also, there's a thread on the CB about a WalMart cake and the posters are basically saying how dumb WM employees are. And well, you know, I take offense to that. I was just hired there. I know people will judge me badly for it, but I feel they wouldn't if they knew my whole story.

So like I've said, I try really hard not to judge people I don't know. It's difficult, sure, because humans love to judge other peoples situations to make them feel superior. But I try.

My first thought was "But Hitler wasn't a vegetarian..." (it's in my book) but I chose C...

Oh come on now, that cake was ridiculous.
Someone HAD to not be paying attention on that one.

The second one I said B.

Although the title of this thread made me change my answer from C to B.

I try my hardest not to judge people.

Oh and I did not kill Beethoven.

Oh, I thought the cake was hilarious. Also the little dialougue she put in there. But later on in the thread they went from saying it was rascist to saying that all WM employees were uneducated. :)

i've seen this on a bulliten on myspace but the first time i read it i did choose c

and i killed bethoveen

lol

I have to say, that while Hitler was a little (ok, a lot extreme) his original basis for what he was doing was justified in the way that he was an extreme patriot. He took it waaaay too far with the whole Third Reich, pure Germany/pure world thing, but he was kinda just standing up for his country. He was stuck in trench warfare on the western front during WWI and it was really bad there. Guys got trenchfoot (basically, your foot gets too wet, like when you're in the shower, only it's for a prolonged span of time and your skin, then eventually chunks of body start to fall off and you get gangreen) all the time, they were tortured if they didn't want to fight (as in, if you got post-traumatic stress disorder and cowered at the sound of artillery blowing up, they'd tie you to stakes in no man's land where you were the easiest target and you either said you'd fight or you stayed out there and most likely died- both the British and the Germans did this), rats got so big that they started to eat men alive when they were wounded in no man's land (both sides have stories of rats carrying off screaming men to eat them). It was really, really horrid. There was poison gas, and Britain had a blockade with their navy keeping any food/supplies from reaching Germany. during the years of the war 750,000 germans starved to death, mostly young, non-working women, and elderly non-working women. What little calories there were were saved for the men fighting first and the people working in factories second. By the end of the war, people were boiling and eating grass just to try and get a few calories into their systems. Germany also received a lot of unnecessary blame for this war, too. They didn't start it. Bosnia did by assasinating the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. The person who killed him was named Princip. He fired the shot at point-blank range and was part of a terrorist/Bosnian liberation group called the "Black Hand" which was funded by the Serbians. The Serbs/Bosnians went to war with Austria-Hungary over this. Well, Russia was the "big brother" of Serbia and came in to back them. This brought in Germany who was in an alliance with Austria-Hungary and that brought in other countries in defence and so on and so forth. It was the Bosnians that started the war, Germany gets all the blame for some reason. Hitler was trying to redeem his country because of that extra blame. Yes, they played a big part, but each country did. I wouldn't be surprised if the trenches drove him mad.

JRR Tolkein's "The Lord of the Rings" series is a complete metaphor for this war.

Ok. That's my history speil for the day.

I picked 'C' and did not kill Beethoven.

I said abortion. And I picked B, because even though C seems like the better person, I wouldn't want some perfect person for a world leader who has never done anything wrong.Perfection is suspicious.

I picked Hitler..that's strange though.
And I chose for her not to have an abortion.

Question 1: Yeah. 8 kids, that's just crowding the Earth. I don't really care what's wrong with them.

Question 2:

I picked candidate B.

I didn't pick Candidate A because of the chain smoking thing, but I thought the astrolgist thing was actually a plus.

I didn't pick candidate C because they were a vegetarian. And I think vegetarians are crazy. No offence, one of my best friends is vegetarian.

I'm sometimes bad with first-impression judements.
But I honestly do try and think about what someone's situation might be.
That song by Shryl Crow "Everybody's got a story" actually really helped me with trying to stop judging people.

I have a friend that I met at the beginning of this school year, she's great and I love her dearly, but she's pretty bad with judging people, and it just boggles my mind because HER own situation is so intense and tragic, and she doesn't even think about that when she judged other people!!

I (obv.) icked Hilter. And I didn't go for the abortion.
