Oogie Boogie tix I cannot use?

So due to A Series of Unfortunate Events...I have tickets I can't use..

After crying hysterically because I have tried years to get into this event... I don't know what to do with my two adult tickets.

I'm not looking to make any money. And I know we are not allowed to "sell" them. But has anyone had any experience in transferring them to like another event? Or credit? Or am I SOL?

Officially, you can gift the tickets but they’re otherwise non-refundable.

Of course, you can always sell the tickets to a party with mutual trust. But that’s against the rules and if you’re caught Disney void the tickets.

Not sure about DL - but at WDW, if you don’t use special event tickets like MNSSHP and MVMCP, you can get a ‘credit’ on any other types of tickets including an AP…

I was able to do that the year of the hurricane. But unfortunately I don't think I can with DL. I can call them tomorrow and try to plead my case. This is for medical reasons so maybe I can catch a break.

I don’t think people have had luck getting a refund or credit on OBB tickets, but it’s certainly worth a try and if it works, maybe @Jax5280 you can report back and share your experience.

Otherwise, you can gift them without exchanging money. I know you said you don’t live locally but l’m sure someone on DISboards (local or visiting) would love the opportunity to use them if they would otherwise go to waste.

Not sure how Disneyland works but at WDW most unused tickets can apply the purchase price to a future ticket of equal or greater value. Usually it’s just a one to one basis though, one ticket applied to one new ticket. You cannot apply 3 party tickets to one multiday ticket, or one multiday ticket to several party tickets.

Make sure to document ticket numbers and any other info you have. Date purchased, how you purchased, electronic ticket #, etc. The more info you keep the less risk you won’t be able to get a credit for it.

We have a WDW party ticket from last year we couldn’t use and I’m holding to use as a credit toward something this year - but - once the date passes for a ticket they no longer show in your account. In many cases they cannot retrieve that info for you, you must supply it to them. So make sure to keep all that info somewhere you can find it later, and somewhere that is not on a Disney server.

People have posted in the past that they were able to donate their unused OBB tickets to charity (e.g. Make a Wish, CHOC Walk/CHOC, etc.) and received a tax receipt for their donation.

Call. We had to cancel due to a medical issue one year with MNSSHP tickets, and they kindly refunded them. I would have been thrilled with just a credit for some other tickets later, but they said they would refund as a courtesy. The worst they can do is say no. Then hang up and call again and see if another CM is more understanding. You might at least get a credit for the unused tickets; you never know.

Try calling Disney. They gave a friend credit for a vacation package long after all deadlines had expired.

I just had the same situation for last Sunday's party. I so wanted to get the tickets back into the pool and think I provided pixie dust to someone but, sadly, I had to just let them languish because I don't know locals, either. It seems like there should be a way that people could do a solid for someone else in these cases. Instead of feeling good that I made someone else's day, I'm a bit bitter that Disney is so rigid in their rules and, even when I asked politely if there was a way to return them so someone else could benefit, they refused-especially when I know they'll have ABSOLUTELY NO trouble selling them again. I get that people abuse things but, nevertheless, this just ground my gears. And, I did mention I couldn't attend because of a medical reason. Didn't matter.

I'm sorry to hear you won't make it to the party. Hopefully, you'll get another chance in the future.
